Great, now we need to check the 4 powers and one ground going to it to see if they are good.

There is lots of rust in that area. If that is inside the cab then I don't know what to say.

If you manage to get things working you are also going to want to deal with all that rust. I am a big fan of corrosion-x. Fancy rust inhibiting oil but it's also electronic and plastic safe.

Considering how high the water looks to have gotten you likely got water in all the front end breathers. That means front diff transfer case and transmission fluids have water in them. Definitely change ASAP if you haven't yet.

Also front diff ADD actuator and transfer case actuator have water in them. There are repair instructions for them that involve opening them up and repairing so there is a chance that could work but there is a good likelihood they will need to be replaced.

If you think you are going to try to repair them I would try to get moisture out of them ASAP and spray the insides with corrosion-x. If nothing else maybe take off the breathers and spray wd-40 or something down them to displace the moisture then a whole bunch of corrosion x until you can deal with it properly.

Now that I think of it not sure which of those breather valves are 1 way vs being open. If 1 way and all the hosing, etc was perfect it's possible you got lucky but I would still assume water in all of it until proven otherwise.

Semantics are important: The module is definitely rearward of the other modules and the large tube where you found it.
When referencing parts locations in a vehicle, directions like rearward mean towards the rear of the vehicle from whatever datum is being referenced.

What has not been suggested is to disconnect the battery and find every connector and unplug them and let them dry out or you will have green corrosion problems later, if it is not already present, it is developing as we type.

EDIT: Should have clarified about what connectors to disconnect and let dry. All in the cab connectors and the connectors in the engine bay fuse box - all fuses and relays as well. The waterproof connectors on the outside should be fine.

Another thing is the wire bundles "wick" water inside the bundle, i.e. the water travels up, against gravity, into the wires. It can come back down later and re-infect the connectors too.

    Good luck with your endeavor.

All that stuff is unpainted (like most cars) so yeah, if it gets submerged it’s gonna rust a bit. It’s technically the least of his worries and if it’s dried out it shouldn’t progress further

Couldn’t agree more. Also since it is the integral part of what you are trying to get working it is imperative to your confidence.
