Yea one of the very few commodities out in the sticks here is the market a couple miles away has an excellent butcher shop that does local cuts. Pretty chill older dude with a pony tail gets me whatever I want

 

I need to start doing my own ground beef where I can. I have a grinder at my cabin, may ask my in-laws to bring it with them when they come to visit on their way back from their cabin.

 

Or save the $$ and go with the Spam lamb.

 

I just lost my appetite for spam, lamb, spinach and everything else in that pic.

Except the Ouzo...I'm still good with that

Ground chuck is supposed to be good. Im always leary of what they put in their ground at stores

Yes I would like to start making my own ground if possible. Need to get my grinder back from the cabin and sanitize it.

 

I brought some camping a couple years back, people were not a fan. I did get a cheap bottle, but still.

It was terrible. I would do it again.

Whatcha got? I was considering one, but never pulled the trigger. For as much as I eat, the food processor is a good compromise.

Pork tenderloin last night. My go to marinade for it
1 tblspn ground corriander
1 tblspn coarse black pepper
2 tblspn brown sugar
1 tspn minced garlic
about 1/4 cup soy sauce

 

It's a LEM, I got a really good deal on a closeout sale some years back. My friend and I got into making our own sausages and it was the first one I picked up, as we did more we got a much bigger and more heavy duty one. We got rid of that big one when life got too stupid busy. I was at the cabin earlier this month and realized the smaller one was there. Meant to bring it home but forgot. Planning to go back up in a few weeks to close it up for the summer so will grab it then.

Ya I have a vacuum sealer, it gets a pretty good amount of use. We try to buy things in bulk and split it up for meals with the cost of all meats being so stupid.

Can’t pic your family as the saying goes. Dealing with major drama and feeding them a 5 star meal but the best part is they get to get on a plane and go away next week lol. Seriously we been through hell together and it’s the least I can do for people who grew up dirt poor myself included. Youngest of nine I figured it out but a lot of them didn’t. All good they’re still blood. Plus I will use any excuse to smoke a rib roast. It’s my favorite by far. I’ll post up some good stuff tomorrow
