Yeah, they are the TRD OEM aluminum boards. Thanks for your thoughts on them. I don't really care for them, but maybe I'll keep them around after all!

i have them too. awesome quality, look great, nice protection, but damn they're annoying to step over in and out of the truck.

Yeah, I have similar design (punted on predator steps - they hold a ton of snow) on 3rd gen. Getting out, if you want to keep your pants leg clean, you have to reach wide w/ one's first leg (I'm 5'10") when stepping out. Stepping in is way easier, or if you want to use the step, but then that's lot of ducking down to then drop in "cockpit".
But like it or not, if you go on gravel roads like I do a bunch, it does major teamwork w/ mud flaps (I like big rekgens, not stiff) to keep rock chips down - even more critical w/ wider/chunkier "hips" on 4th gen (plus dark color like underground - rock chips will show even more!). I 4 wheel the sh*t outta my tacoma due to muddy roads, etc., but I do NOT need rock sliders - nice ones are big money and often porous design to reduce the steel weight (you will be stepping over those too). Those holes bring more rocks!

Your more solid TRD design is light weight, not steel, and not porous! ;)

Thanks, yes stock Off Road, the 265/70/17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers give it the appearance of a bit of a lift

Ahh, ok, I'm guessing those TRD Wheels add to that effect with the extra poke as well!

Yeah that combination of wheel and tire does make a big difference on stance
