Any suggestions on (not so gawdy) interior mood lights?
Things seem a little dreary inside the cabin at night. Has anyone here installed some interior mood lights? Im not looking to have a disco party or "smoke sesh" (I had to look up that term). I'm just looking to brighten things up a bit and maybe give a bit of excitement for when the kids ride along.

You could just install part of the kit if this is too much.

Or you just give the kids a book and a book light. :D

Sweet! Maybe I can get an Automan (poverty Tron) suit made to go with that!

Don't the display light up the whole cab? I know it's not the same as the cool accent lighting but the screens are usually too bright.

That’s why you dim it as it’s distracting at night time drives.

I usually turn it off in the dark, the Ford switches back from white during the day and blue at night.

There is also dark mode in Apple CarPlay options which I have it on always.

Do you need to use Apple devices for that dark mode to work? I'm guessing that would be the only way for that to work.

Yes, you need an Apple device t use CarPlay.

Android Auto likely has a similar dark mode and should work with the various other manufacturers.

Look into footwell lights. I have them in my 3rd gen. Front footwells, very dim when doors closed & headlights on - and a good bit brighter when doors are open. Also has exterior courtesy lights under the pinch welds the lights up with the interior as I approach the truck. Would love to find similar functionality for 4th gen.

Hood Struts, My version Fogs always ON, Map & Overhead Light Mod,
If you can get (when available) the MESO map lights, tie into the wires from it then to ones coming from the footwell system by vleds.
    Proper Footwell LED add.

I gave my friend so much shit for the mood lighting in his X3M. I think it got to him a little bit cuz he sold it! That and the free dental work with every crack in the pavement.

This is not my thing at all. By the way, it's "gaudy."

Why you gonna go and do that? If its not your thing then its not your thing.
No need to poop on his parade. And by the way, both "gaudy" and "gawdy" are acceptable spellings.
    Cheers :)
