I don't worry about any of that anymore. With Affinity Software and then Topaz Sharpen and Topaz DeNoise
my images turn out like I'm shooting a 1.8 lens and shutter at 9000 in perfect light LOL... I don't get all anal
about it tho I shoot for 'something to do', to get into the desert, or the woods, or wherever.

Now you’re talking my speed, although I have always been a mk1 guy.

Is that yours? Incredibly Euro centric, the wheels, the lights with crossbars installed

This is my friends… started off as Mars red. We cut the door handles out and put Audi ones in, de-seamed everything we could, deleted the license plate in the back, added sunroof, cage, buckets, subs, Porsche wheels, M3 mirrors. We almost started a business tuning golf’s but a business between friends was too difficult, unfortunately. We did manage to get two cars on front covers of a magazine in consecutive months

    Flashback… 26 years!!

Nice that's very cool. That's a lotta work but it always pays off.

It's not my mk2 by any means. It was at a show back home in the midwest in Wisconsin in 2014. I went to Waterwagens in 2007, Waterfest in 2005, 2006, 2009. Dubs at the Beach and h2oi in 2010/11. Many more shows after that as well.

I'll always be keeping my eye out of the right mk2 GTI or a Caddy.

Nice, I do miss car shows. Had a ‘59 beetle and a ‘76 beach buggy. Should have never sold the beetle but moving continents makes you pack light :(

If I had a garage I’d totally love to get this… But alas, once we get our lives back on track and we do get a multi car garage the wife will be getting her ‘64.5 mustang convertible project first.

Yeah it sucked the last few times I went. But to be fair, it wasn't always insanity. The insanity started when other "scenes" started showing up - Some muscle cars, a lot of JDM cars, who were the main people who ruined it.

When it was just Euros, we had a good sane time. There were no crashes into condos and the like.

Was lucky to have someone grab this amazing shot of my car:

Met this ol' girl while driving through Hill Country, TX during motoGP weekend. Hope she is safe and didn't get hit by the flooding. :(

She was in the middle of the field, came to the fence as I approached and struck this pose. Let me pet her nose... Will never forget that human/animal moment. <3

I ended up flogging the Leica I bought. I really liked the fact you could go from 25-400mm but unfortunately the AF was not great, well not good enough for me. The sharpest photos I got out of it was when I was manually focusing.

Shot these with my little Panasonic LX100m2 with the exposure, contrast and blacks adjusted in LR @1600 ISO 1/60 f1.7 for the most part.

The last few photos are from the person I bought it off, they had the camera for sale for a few months at $550 and I snagged it for $300 and then sold it within 2 days for a nice profit of $200.

Still looking for a little more focal length and currently researching the Sony a6400/6600...

I wonder if the lens was lousy. Those multi-cool 18-400 ... 25-400 all-in-one lenses typically leave a bit to be desired.
I toyed with the Nikon version of the 28-400 but the reviews weren't that great.

Rent before you spend at lensrentals.com for all manner of camera gear.

And give Nikon a whirl - I've been real happy with the lower and medium end of that spectrum but can't afford the Z8.

The reality is most zoom lenses aren't that great throughout their range this is especially true of the more pancake style lenses. Same is true when examining various apertures.

Either one of those with a Tamron 18-300 is a pretty solid option for a reasonable price.

I have been looking at that one. But would want to get something smaller for everyday kinda stuff, probably the 16-50 kit lens as it’s so small and power zoom.

Have you owned a Sony a6k?

Im torn at the moment, the 6400 does not have IBIS or the bigger grip/battery but it does have that little pop up flash which can be very handy.

Also like the size, the body is no bigger than my LX100m2 yet it has a larger aps-c sensor, floppy screen and built in flash… and of course that phase detect af.

Very true, either I got a bad copy or all of these YouTubers have lower standards.
