When the water around your feet in the shower is dark you know you did a good bit of work. :bananadead:

Mowed here at home then woke up the wood chipper and started to clean up the massive piles of brush from this spring. More to go. :(

what's the point of the long flat stock extending past the blade?

i understand the blade to pre-cut overgrowth, but not the extension part. is that to fold the overgrowth over before hitting the blade?

it was FINALLY a weekend that wasn't 95 degree's in the shade, so got a lot done over the past few days.
the yard finally got mowed and concrete surfaces got the edger treatment, so it actually looks like the house isn't abandoned.

i finally got my garage tool box socket drawer re-arranged so all the sockets stand up. previously, i was using both sides of the socket rail for shallow and deep sockets. which lead to stacking different rails, which made murphies law exist-- where the one i needed was always on the bottom
    [IMG]

and the atv had an issue where at medium speed, the front would become indecisive and pitch back and forth as each tire grabbed and released. the alignment was way off.

so i grabbed my 4' levels and some ratchet straps, and dialed it back within enough spec that it's not trying to kill me as fast anymore.

My guess to guide the mower/item to be cut towards the blade. It’s long enough/diagonal to the width of the mower. I’d gather this does more than a 1-2” sapling.

That is to act as like the "fence" on a radial arm saw.
Without it the blade would just shove the whole mower to the side.

Wow!!! Danger Danger Will Robinson. A horrible song that I used to sing when I was a kid goes through my mind when I see that contraption…Let me sing it for you now…Hummm….I’m looking over my dead dog rover that I ran over with the lawn mower. One leg is missing the other is gone, one leg is scattered all over the lawn. Well there is no need explaining the one remaining it’s out by the kitchen door. I’m looking over my dead dog rover that I ran over before….Ill see myself out now.

    @Sig45 did a awesome job

    IMG_9209.jpg

I think they built the door opening after they put the door in place. It was tight. Luckily, the header had a 2x4 for a spacer and I had a piece of 1x so we replaced it to allow some wiggle room. Got stung in my thumb and now I’m suffering a little.
I took one for the team…
Plugged the hole in siding yesterday. I thought I would hear something the past few years when it was really quiet sitting in my living room chair. Thought it was old age. Well, I guess it wasn’t.
So no way out and a few hot days will kill the stragglers after I emptied a can of raid in the hole.

It's just an absolute shame that it's raining so I can't work on burying more sprinkler line.

    20250803_075145.jpg

Everything hurts and I wasn't looking forward to another day of it but it needs to finally get it done. I'll gladly take a rest from it, though. Got laundry to do and my wife said her sink is running slow again. :puke:

this is why my front landscaping remains at the bottom of my to-do list.

do i want it to look nice? sure. but i don't want to pay someone else, and don't want to pay in back pain either. so it's fine as-is.

I wasn't about to pay someone to do it, either. But the blue line on the side and front of the house was bugging my wife. I figured I should probably finally get this done. Or at least started.

I'm kind of fond of breathing so I'll keep that to myself.
