Moving up from the 2nd gen forum to the 3rd gen after an engine bay fire.

Picked up a mostly stock 2022 black on black premium off road with 18k miles. Just gonna move as much over from my 2nd gen as I can and start over. Looks like my Fox elites, Deaver’s, archive hammer hangers, most of audio, wheels/tires, roof rack and lighting will fit. Gonna lose my pelfrey bumper and Rci sliders, snug top, and other odds and ends.

Sorry you lost your 2nd Gen due to a fire, but you got yourself one badass looking 3rd Gen!

OP has a nice looking garage too.

How did the engine bay fire start on your 2nd Gen?

Are you selling the wheels/tires currently on the black one?

It's up for debate and still under investigation by the adjuster. It's either a fuel line (high pressure side) rupture and fire or electrical fire that caused the fuel line to rupture. For whatever reason, I cant get the video to upload but it shows the fuel line barfing fuel right to the area where the fire was. I attached a still of the video and you can see the stream.

I will be when I get my truck back, whether insurance buy back or claim denial. They have fairly new 285/70/17 Ridge Grapler's on them. I have Stealth Customs to put on. I suspect it will be a month before I get the truck back and have time to start swapping items.

It’s so tight. The sales guy road home with me to test it out, otherwise it was a no go, especially with black paint. It has to be perfectly square and touching the cabinets. I can only hope it’s still gonna fit with a steel bumper…probably the CBI Baja or equivalent.

Smart move getting the Off Road model Rick....

Mine just fits in the garage with a Bull bar upfront, and trailer hitch ball at the back.

Both can be modified to fit 3rd gen. More work but may be quicker than waiting on order lead times.

you can probably get $1000 for the bumper and another $1000 for the shell if you take them off and sell them on here

I would think the sliders would swap over but I could be wrong

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
I would think the sliders would fit also. Victory 4x4 has sliders listed as for both gens. Even the pics on RCI's site show the same mounting points.

I would love to keep the sliders and if I can make the Pelfrey bumper work I am game for that too. I will contact RCI before I make any moves.

Definitely would like to see the front bumper on a 3rd gen.. I have the same one for my second gen and have been wondering if it’s a possibility since part of me wants to buy a 3rd gen and swap everything over

If you own the house, consider remounting garage door tracks to outside and boxing in from sides and top in a watertight manner.

Any addition front or rear is gonna spoil that perfect fit! Any place to relocate the tools?

I could park on the other side and move or get rid of those two cabinets but that kills the symmetry in the garage. It is what it is tho.
