I am considering upgrading my 4th gen tacoma suspension. I use my 2024 for towing our Outrigger Canoe Club's Canoes. I have installed ARB Suspension Air Bags and wondering if anyone is running the ICON CDEV. Also wondering if anyone knows if I am running Air Bags will that cause issues?

If its anything like the e-venture system that carli suspension did a few years back i would say its junk. Constant small issues with the software and hardware. At least Icons shocks themselves are relativly issue free so they have that going for them. I would never do electric controlled shocks unless it was something integrated from the factory like the ferd raptor, rzr or canam utv's

    Intake, exhaust, lift. Typical stuff.
Should be fine. Icons will do well for towing since they have digressive valves.

What can you tell us about the ARB Suspension Air Bags? Do you have any pictures?

    Probably
Noticed especially when towing 3 canoes on the trailer it was bottoming out, so I put the Air bags in to help in that. When I get home I can take some pictures and can add a link to what I purchased and installed. It has definitely helped.

Edit: (looks like Carlis E-Venture system is driven by SDI's e-clik)

It's all very close to Fox's Live Valve. I've ridden in one of Polaris' Dynamix machines and was absolutely floored with how it worked. Although those do both compression and rebound adjustment on the fly.

I have adjustable Kings on my truck and the difference between full soft and full hard is significant. Full soft it's extremely comfy, full hard is not as firm as a sports car, but it goes from couch mode, to a more responsive but compliant mode.

Do you need it for towing? I'd not think so.

I have been looking very close at these.

They have a kit that will adapt to nearly any remote reservoir rebuildable shock.
One major bonus in my eyes is that it does not rely on an app. There is a screen and control that should work a lot longer then some app that may not get development in the future.

I agree! the fox live valve is pretty good in the Raptor and more so in the Polaris. I have it on my canam but not sure it was worth the extra cost . The Fox engineers spend a lot of time working on the dymanics of those specific vehicles. They pretty much live in borrego with the ford racing devolpment team. Seeing it firsthand, its amazing the time put into their R&D.

The experence ive had with eclick and carli's stuff was constant electrical communication issues and we blew every shock at least once before getting rid if it and going to Kings. we do beat the hell out of trucks, chasing offroad races. But it wasent worth it with all the problems.
The shocks sdi made are/were aluminum bodies and not made for hard off road use, like King, Fox & Icon. You get them too hot once and they shed caps and oil. Their stuff will work for the majority that dont really use there trucks hard for extended periods. but i wouldent reccomend them over an external adjustable King, Fox or Icon. Especially if all your doing is towing and occasional offroad use

Sorry wife had a Honey-Do Item before she got home from work and I forgot to take some pictures. Looked back at my purchase it is with Airlifter and it is the Airlifter 5000 and it has worked really well for what I do when it comes to trailering it has greatly improved that sag in the backend when trailering. I opted not to purchase and install a compressor and just ran the air supply hoses to by my license plate and I just us my Milwaukie M12 battery compressor when I am carrying a load.
The air bags are specifically for the 4th Gen Tacoma

Truly appreciating the feedback. So much better getting information on forums like this instead of Fakebook. :)

I think my plan is once it is time to get new tires I will go ahead and do the suspension and take this information make sure I am building out for the what I am going to mostly use it for. I would love build out some kind of Baja runner however here in Hawaii just not much opportunities for that.
