Thanks! The cold air intake is the TRD one that came with the truck, so it is the "stock airbox"
I am looking for thay scan tool that shows the airflow data.

Yeah, the TRD airbox should be fine. At this point, I’d definitely check the actual MAF readings and, if everything looks off, start checking for a short. Since the code keeps coming back even after replacing the MAF sensor, it might also be worth smoke testing the intake system. I use a cheap fluid transfer pump from Harbor Freight and a gas station cigar, sounds crazy, but it works surprisingly well!

And, the people who have to put up with the exhaust from his truck coming in the open windows of their vehicle(s) when they have no choice but to sit next to him in stopped traffic; does this mean they do not get to drive their way because they have to roll up their windows to keep from breathing the exhaust?

This is about safety; this is why doing things like this has been made illegal in states that care about the impact of what you do has on others when you do not. Sad, but true.

Installed new battery terminals as a start to cleaning up my wiring. Right after I put them on, the battery died so also bought a new battery. Convenient timing.

Oil change, tire rotation, ujoint grease, went back to stock UCAs (off a 3rd gen), addressed some corrosion on the left front cab mount.

Replaced the original 180k UCAs and went back in with 3rd gen OEM take offs, ball joints seemed fine still so it makes me feel good about putting OEM back in. Drivers side bolt came out with minimal bending of metal (way too easy) but the passenger side wouldn’t clear no matter how much bending was done.
    IMG_0146.jpg
Ever since I got the frame replaced last year, I noticed the cab being slightly crooked on the frame from the technician putting the truck back together so I think that explains why the bolt wouldn’t clear. Had to cut the bolt and install the opposite way which I was trying to avoid but not too worried about it. New sway bar links to replace the hammered moog ones I installed a few years ago too.IMG_0149.jpg

I installed 3rd gen UCAs today too. I wasn't sure which way to put the washers on the long bolt... I decided to put the washer on with the indentation facing out. Looks like you installed with the indentation facing in... Was the washer installed on your OEM UCAs with the indentation facing in?

The cupped side should be pointing at the UCA on both sides so it stays clear of the rubber bushing, opposite of how you installed it.

Well… I thought it sounded a lot quieter but results didn’t quite show that (besides lower speed gains which I guess is what I heard):
      • Before
        • 0: 46
        • 30: 72
        • 45: 74
        • 60: 76
      • After
        • 0: 47
        • 30: 67
        • 45: 72
        • 60: 75
All mph:decibels of course with the air off and in the same position in the truck. Same road stretch too (Gandy Blvd).

Generally, same type of daytime but was windier today (8mph original vs 14mph today; both same station using WU).

Will try again in a bit and also see what happens with more soundproofing on the floors/etc. Hoping I haven’t buggered something up with the windows during my door-related misadventures.

Soundproofing done: 1) Gen 3 seals for front/rear cab (on for both tests; done a while back), 2) Kilmat and closed cell foam over that in front and back doors, and 3) closed cell foam behind the cab between the truck bed.

Not us per se but we had a customer's 2nd Gen getting scheel-mann seats installed and the installer (RPM Garage in Monrovia) ran into an issue we had never run across, Toyota's fold-flat seats. We've had dozens of Tacoma seats taken apart while doing R&D but never ran into one of these. Turns out there is an extra mechanism that needed to be dealt with:

Little bit of this and that
    2 things:

    1. It's not Friday.
    A. These are trucks, the newest of which are ~10years old, safety is towards to bottom of the list of concerns for most in this thread.
ii. Placement of exhaust is hardly a safety issue so long as it doesn't burn the truck down.
    2. 4th Gen Section is over here https://www.tacomaworld.com/forums/4th-gen-tacomas-2024.292/
