Amanda had this custom made while we were at the Carlisle Truck Nationals, and it is rather fitting that she put it on her car on the 90-day anniversary of Emily’s passing…

Yesterday, I had a scary moment at work that my doctor believed was brought on by dehydration. I had a lot of flavored seltzers and sodas, as well as a few beers, over the weekend. However, I apparently didn’t have enough water. I walked into the building after parking a car, and became so dizzy that I almost fell over. My boss saw me fall sides ways into the wall, and had me sit down. After sitting for a minutes, I got up and went back out to the wash bay and things started to spin again, so I went to the bathroom and sat down in the break room for a few minutes. At this point, I was also sweating profusely. I could breathe just fine and wasn’t having any chest pains, but I couldn’t walk more than a few feet.

I texted with my parents, made my boss and coworkers aware of what was going on, and went to sit in my truck with the A/C cranked. This helped immensely, but I still called my doctor. The doctor’s office hadn’t even opened yet, as it was it was like 8:25, but the answering service put me in contact with the doctor on call. In a stroke of good luck, the doctor on call happened to be my doctor of 18 years, Dr. Smith (also a fellow 2nd Gen owner). Dr. Smith is almost 70 and about to retire, and getting an appointment with him has been virtually impossible recently.

Dr. Smith didn’t seem as worried as I was, and believed it was dehydration based on the symptoms I was describing. He approved of my idea to “chug a few Yetis of water”, and told me to make an appointment for that day if I didn’t feel better. Well, I ended up feeling better almost immediately!

I have high blood pressure, and before I went on medication, I was in the low levels of hypertension. My blood pressure since I started taking the meds tends to be in the mid 120s over the mid 80s. Last night, albeit only for a few minutes, my blood pressure was roughly 166 over 101. I damn near freaked out, given what recently happened to my friend Emily three months ago, but within a few minutes my blood pressure was back to safe levels. This morning, it was like 133 over 83, but this was right after I drank coffee. At its lowest, I believe my blood pressure has been like 119 over 79 or something.

Damn! It happens to the best of us.

I was dehydrated in Iraq once. We were doing night operations for several days. Couldn't sleep during the day, I ended up drinking coffee and juice a lot. The last night I don't remember. I woke up in medical with IV's in me with my commanding officer leaning over me. He said "thought we lost you shipmate!" That was embarrassing.

Never been dehydrated that I know of for a fact. I’ve felt bad during/after doing some work outside, that during water helped.

As for dizzy, in usually get that when standing up. I have low(ish) blood pressure.

    90/60 +/- 5 points

It hit 117 once. And that kind of made me nervous.

I was talking to @shakerhood about this; I recently put brighter lightbulbs in my ceiling fan light. I wouldn’t call this a traumatic flashback, but when I turn on the light in my bedroom, it gives me flashbacks of the moment the first responders turned on the lights and I realized that Emily was not merely unconscious…

Drink more water. I had this happen once on a plane. Drank some water, immediately felt better. It was like an antidote.
Your mistake was going to Iraq. We have plenty of desert on the west coast in which to get dehydrated.

Water or Powerade Zero (my go to). I've overdone it a few times doing yardwork or such
