I would say lets get the truck running first and then worry about other things.
We need to get the ECM and Immobilizer ECU online.

Leme look at some diagrams and see what fuses we need to check first.

Flood cars have about zero salvage value. Anything mechanical or electrical is likely to be ruined, interior is a write off, and even body parts are iffy. It's worse with salt water, but fresh water is just slower acting.

Sorry you're in this position and I hope it works out for you.

    This and that
Salt water leaves behind salt which attracts more water, evaporates, and attracts more water etc etc etc

With all the work he is doing, he should be checking ALL the fuses often.

Not a fan of them for general use but they make these nifty little fuses that actually light up when blown. Not sure if they are available in the sizes needed or the cost but could be handy for such projects.

I'll check into it later this evening but on many Toyota's it's pretty much the last thing in there behind everything else.

Perhaps this attachment might help. Seems to be located somewhere near the #1 Power Window Relay; this relay is attached to the driver's side main support tube. I was not paying any attention when I was looking at the relay sockets as a power take off point. Could have brushed my hand against it and not even known.

EDIT: I do not have this Transponder KEY ECU as I have the push to Start.

I don't know what year this schematic is from, copied it from somewhere years ago. Might help you to know what shape, size and color of connector you are looking for.

I just looked it up in Mitchell, shows 8 hrs to replace. Includes R&I HVAC housing so yea unfortunately it's a dash out job.
It's mounted to the back of the HVAC housing against the firewall, looks impossible to access with the dash in place.

Like I said Toyota usually buries them as deep in the dash as they can, I guess for security reasons so no one can tamper with it.

Cut an access door from engine bay through the firewall. Replace unit. Repair access door and seal well. Save 6 hours. :hattip:
