    Where would the diff be hitting if you lowered the ride height, aluminum upper pan or steel lower pan?

    ^The X-Runner and 1st gen Tundra V6 had a flat lower pan. It's cheap on Rock Auto, but the bolt pattern isn't compatible with the Tacoma 4WD pan. You would need to swap over the upper pan as well, which is OEM-only and costs $530 new. Something to keep in mind when you find a salvage yard X-Runner or 1st gen Tundra V6. I think you'll also need their oil pickup and dipstick.

    yellow pelican ones i'm talking about are the portable defib/ medical breather cases that princess auto had a ton of for like $100
