Thought it'd be nice to have a thread dedicated to those of us that have 4th Gen SR5 4x4's. Show off your mods, give advice to 4x4 newbies like me on going offroad/overlanding, adding suspension components, upgrading wheels n tires, armor, etc. Sky's the limit!

Removed that goofy air dam on day 2. Off-roading and that air dam aren't going to play well.
    Rough Country skid plate
    Toyota OEM tri-fold tonneau cover
LasFit amber LED turns up front.
Clear bra on leading edge of hood and fenders
    Weathertech mud flaps
    FitCamX dash cam
    RAV4 volume knob
Black vinyl TACOMA letters for tailgate

Think that's it so far. Had it two months.

Right there with you on the damn air dam. I think it lasted 2 weeks for me.
Got a pic of your ride?

Bigger tires on the SR5 make it look so much better!

Agree completely, but I gotta get my money's worth & wear down the 265/65/18 Nittos that came on mine first...

On another note, what are you doing to limit paint chips on your rear fender flares?
I've added some DV8 running boards that are pretty wide up front (see pic below), and Muslogy mud flaps. I still get mud spray on the rear fenders, though it's greatly reduced.

However, I am concerned the flaps aren't big enough for offroading on gravel forest service roads and beyond. I'm gonna swap the Muslogy flaps for the RokBlokz and possibly get some PPF put on to protect the forward facing parts of the fender flares.

Glad I saw this. I actually don't think this looks too bad. I'm debating what wheel and tire set up I want to go with currently but I think P rated 285/70/17's are the move.

I think PPF on the leading edges of the fenders is probably the best thing you can do if you've done mudflaps and running boards.
If you're somewhat handy you might be able to do it yourself, you can get the stuff in bulk rolls. Then if it gets too chewed up, peel it off and reapply it.

Thanks for that tip. I am fairly handy and like a new challenge.
I watched a YouTube video and I think it's definitely possible for me to do.
    Brain Surgery anyone? :D

I've put PPF on my CanAm Spyder, on the door sills on my previous Jeep, etc. As long as there's no wicked bends or curves it should be pretty easy. Spray bottle with water and baby shampoo makes it so you can slide it around and get it in place, then gently squeegee the water out. Spray it on your fingertips too if you are going to touch the adhesive side. I use a microfiber towel after than to finish pressing it in place and getting the last of the water out.

Worst case if you screw it up, just toss the piece and cut a new one. The PPF isn't that expensive so you can afford to mess up a few pieces.

Thanks a mil. I'm definitely going to hit up Amazon for a roll of 3M and do that. Appreciate you!

7194BC87-AEA7-477C-925F-1BD0CD4C2B95.jpg Mine is a factory lifted SR5 with TRD wheels, I believe they are Tundra wheels, correct me if I’m wrong.
Air damn off, RC skids (hard to beat for the money), removed the steps from the predator steps, The Toyota off road exhaust tip, OEM Tri fold bed cover, and tried out some Sidio crates for my gear. Just need my tow hooks, and I’m done.

Killer looking ride. ARB is slow walking their front recovery points, so I went with Bonobo's for now. Picked up their hitch receiver recovery unit for the back recovery point.

Thanks! The guys at work were telling me to get over it and get it dirty I really wanted to go shooting this weekend but I had just washed it so nope ☹️
I’m undecided on rear recovery point, don’t like the wheelie bar look that’s out there. Maybe I’ll just try that Bonobo receiver mounted unit also, until I see something I like

I like the receiver hitch option, which I got from a forum member when I first joined and was asking about recovery points. He said get the ARBs for the front and the hitch mounted for the back. I'll just keep the recovery gear in a box and throw it into the truck when I go on a trip/offroad. Put the hitch unit in the 2" receiver only when I'm off roading, take it out when not. Cleaner look in the back IMO as well.
