Hi, help! When I type in my truck with rwd the shocks and struts like the Bilstein 4600’s are for 4wd. Does anyone have some recommendations or will those work on mine with two wheel drive? 2005 prerunner trd v6 6sp manual. (This just for daily driving, nothing crazy unfortunately and I can’t afford anything fun!)

Im in the same boat too. Im leaning towards just going with the OEM replacements from Toyota for simplicities' sake.

4600s will be fine - prerunners use the same suspension as 4WD trucks, they just dont have the tcase/front diff. If you're not messing with lift, you dont need to worry about the weight difference.

Why do you think you need new shocks? When you push down on the corner of the truck and let go does it keep bouncing and bouncing before it stops?

BTW, mechanics LOVE to replace shocks, it's a high profit part of their business.

In the 1980s I had a car that was less than a year old and a mechanic (at the dealer) put it up on a lift and showed me that where the rod came out of the casing, there was some moisture, some oil, so the shock was bad. I said great, the car is still under warranty. Suddenly the shocks were ok.

My mechanic said they’re original. I guess I should investigate a little more and be sure. I’ll try pushing on it! Thanks for the advice!
