yes and no. each definitely fits a niche that the other does not but going back to the tacoma always feels alright.

i think a lot of what helps is to compartmentalize it

the 85 sucks at stuff that isnt straight up slow speed technical but is a blast to do buggy shit with. that kind of stuff is a 3-5hr drive away, so it is a lot harder to actually get out and do

for basic fire roads and trails that are much closer to get to, the tacoma is much more comfortable and better at being an all around truck. in general it will get down 99pct of trails but takes more patience to get there.

Not very… But got a 3 day weekend ahead with zero obligations (finally), so gonna make a run at it!

The normal grinding stone was awful for trying to get that nut down to size so I ordered a belt arm attachment for my bench grinder. Just had a few bronze bushings show up today to try and get the fit tighter.

    Tall boy, I like it!

Was out of things to watch so I started rewatching GOT
HBO has gotten absolutely ridiculous with the delays between episodes

    “Next episode” *Click*
“Skip Ad for GOT trading cards” *Click*
    “Skip recap” *Click*
    “Skip intro” *Click*

Four god damn clicks to get the next episode rolling, each with a couple seconds delay before giving the skip option. Insanity

    Surface

He's literally making tons of videos (and sending them) going over every single part underneath the vehicle and it really is just surface (some of it being more dirt rubbing off with his hands) but I'm so used to having a jet black frame whether it was my Tacoma, 4Runner, Land Cruiser, and even the GX

Ah, fuckin’ bummer! Those first pics looked CLEAN!

Don’t do it if it’s gonna bug you, another one will come around. I made a lot of compromises on mine buying in the middle of 2020 when prices were out of control; some days all I can see are the flaws…

Rear half of the frame would be easy to address during the flatbed build at least, more work of course though

    Oh I'm not worried

You should see my old posts - I waited a guy out where he upped his cash on top offer when I ignored him for a week

I've had some 11+ Corvettes, a lot of F body cars and more lol

When I told him being in CA means 0 rust at all, that's when he went under and started making videos - to his credit he's just being absolutely honest and up front about everything

Yeah that's the worst part, and most of it is actually dirt rubbing off. But there's surface rust still, on bolts and such. But it's fully solid.
