Anyone have the OEM part number for the oil filter cap (I think that is what it is called) for a 2016 V6??? Techs couldn't get mine off today to change the cartridge without destroying it, so I need a replacement soon.

    THANK YOU!!!

No, it has been great. I got the OEM one. There are lots of aftermarket ones, but I went with the Toyota one. Torque to 18 foot lbs.

I run the same aluminum housing in my Taco and RAV4. Both engines use the same part #. Make sure to put he O-ring in the correct groove on the housing. Pic is on every Toyota filter. No leaks.
I get filters in boxes of 10 from Toyota dealers on Amazon. $5 or less a piece this way.

You will need to transfer the center tube and spring from your plastic filter cap, as well as the drain plug.

Correct oil cap. You will not need to transfer anything, not the center tube, not the spring. And it looks like it comes with its own oil drain plug. Good kit. It is a direct replacement for the plastic part.
I measured the central tube in aluminum and plastic housings with a micrometer (posted pics on TW a while back). Difference was 0.01 of an inch, withing the manufacturing tolerances.

Not if he buys part# 15620-31060. It already comes comes with a shorter central tube for a shorter filter that Taco uses.
15620-0S010 and 15620-0V010, for example (yes, I know they are plastic) come with longer tubes for longer filters.

Just FYI…correctly torqued to 25 NM/about 18ft-lb and using a quality wrench like the OEM, or even better, the MotiveX to take it off or tighten it, I have never had a single issue with the plastic cap over 2 3gens.

The one time I had a problem was allowing the dealer to do the oil change, never again.
