What's the chase?

 

It's the version that has some uncolored portions.

 

Just this one? Do you have a collection?

 

I have a very modest "collection" - over the years I made a small habit of running through the toy aisles to see if there were any cool matchbox or hot wheels, usually Volkswagens or Euros. So I have probably 50 pieces.

When I see cool stuff I tend to pick them up.

This one came across my Instagram feed b/c I think Fuckerberg was spying on my data.

 

Ok I was going to say it all starts with just a few and before you know it you’re putting them in boxes in the basement

 

Well I don't like to collect anything to put in a box and not look at. That's pointless. And I don't collect anything to flip or make a profit.

I'm more aware than ever, my time on Earth is limited, I can't take anything with me, and anything I leave behind will be fought over by family.

My plan is to leave nothing behind, liquidate everything before I die and donate the money to saving the Redwoods and the rhinos in Africa.

 

Looks like those are runnin $46.

Nobody really buys to put in a box but when you start collecting the collection can get out of hand fast and no where to put it.

 

I'm sure I crossed the line from collector to hoarder a long time ago!

that's the range on ebay, $44, 45, 46?

I mean if it's that or wait to find one in the store.....or wait til they become valuable in the future and you can pay $400 like that Fire Rescue from 1979 lol

 

Eb ay takes away the thrill of the hunt. It's not the solution to everything.

 

I get that argument. But, if it's $48 on eBay today, and you don't find one in the next few months or EVER for that matter, do you want to pay the "new inflated price" down the road?

If it were me, I would not.

Im going to HK in November. I'm bringing an extra suitcase just for cars haha. Im hoping to expand my 1/43 collection. If I can find the right few cars I would like.. Ill be pretty conent with what I have.
I have multiple colors and models of my favorite cars, F40, GTR, Civic, its the JGTC and Super GT and Le Mans cars I am hunting for in 1/43 and no one locally sells it.

Ebay gets me through the year with a buy or two each year. Hopefully Hong Kong solves that!

True. When I do view it though I search for things $5 or less so I never see the ridiculous things.
