I dropped off a new front spindle along with the bearing and hub assembly to a shop last week, he called me this morning and said he doesn't have the puck to get it all the way pressed in, I show up and he didn't press the hub into the bearing, just tried to press the bearing into spindle, I left him another new bearing to use as a puck,, and an old spindle assembly to learn from,..what are the odds he gets it done right??

My advice is go to a local paint supply store and get to talking to someone there who knows what they’re doing. Ask if they paint cars on the side or know someone who does and you’ll end up paying 1/4 to 1/3 that price.

It's true. I had my truck painted for $300+ cost of materials from an old local guy.
Not perfect cause we did it outside under a canopy, but good enough for a trail truck and for what I use it for.

The metal handles sure feel strong...and hot in the summer unlike the plastic ones! But better that than replacing them repeatedly....

Anyone on here with a first-gen (2004) Taco TRD Off-Road 4x4 with a 2" lift? I'm having a hell of a time finding bump stops that will accommodate the P10046-K - Toytec Lifts Rear 2" lift Leaf Springs. I need 4.25" bump stops, and the closest thing I can find is the . I find it hard to believe that this is a rare part to find for this gen/setup... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

How did you determine your required bumpstop length? Also, are you taking into consideration the compressed height of the bumps? Durobumps are much softer than stock, for example.

I’ve used basic Daystar poly bumps, they come in lengths up to 4.5” I believe, and worked fairly well. I currently have hydro bumps from Locked Off-road, obviously a custom setup but allows you to set them to whatever height you need, and dial in the firmness, etc.

The 4.25" bump spec was recommended by the Toytec rep when I initially inquired about their in-house 2" P10046-K lift leaf springs. This is the best option I can find for my needs, paired with the Bilstein 5100s (minus the lack of a bump stop actually rated for my rig at this setting), so I was just going with their suggestions since it's what they do all day, every day, and have a decent reputation to match. I'm not rock-crawling, intentionally submersing in deep mud, nor doing any heavy flexing. Unfortunately, I'm too damn poor to abuse my daily driver like that... Nonetheless, I still need a solid rig that can get me into and out of the backcountry of NM and CO. This rig is 85-90% of the time on pavement, and the rest of the time it's my truck camper during the fall/winter months. It sees approximately 15-30 days per year of forest access roads and light trails up in NM and CO when I can break away from the non-BLM public access land deserts of Texas twice a year. Hitting up the local off-road park packed with pretentious flexers oozing with hipster douchebaggery isn't my thing. No offense to those who do! I just prefer the solitude of the backcountry mountain time over anything we have here. Thanks for the input and suggestions. Much appreciated!

I made myself a “hidden” winch mount for my 95’ using a harbor freight universal mount.

I relocated the controlled to a universal box I bought on Amazon and placed it in the fender well. I Ended up painting the bumper with bed liner since I had to hack it up and it was already beat up.

I am very happy with the way it turned out.

Folks seem to be impressed with the Perry Parts bumps, they come spec’d for 2” lift application as well. Pretty similar to Durobumps from what I understand. They look like a bolt in option.

I second this, especially since my starter decided to come apart.
Doing the starter on a 3.4 automatic 4x4 is just...painful.
You have to get to the damn bolts, which is fun, take the dipstick out, move a brake hard line, and then exactly position the thing to wiggle it out. Thankfully the new one was smaller and made the job easier but it literally took two days of a whole lot of not fun.
