    Hello,

Does anyone have the expertise to guide me on to do pops and Bangs using VFtuner on my Tacoma 3rd Gen please without impacting the Catalytic converter? An example would be also helpful

    Thanks

Nope. Those cats are coming off.

I'd be cautious of any burble "tune" on a 2GR Tacoma.
The "tuner" isn't likely looking out for the best interest of his customer. (you)
He's likely looking out for himself, not you.

If I were a tuner, and I am not, I'd refuse to do "burble" tunes.
I resect myself and reputation too much......

I have no idea why you would want to do this to a Tacoma?

I’m sure it will be the first! Good luck

    physically impossible.

damaging the cats is the only way to make that kind of noise.

it's like trying to get a drum beat without a drum set. or a country song without a steel guitar.

I didn’t even know what OP was attempting to do, but based on the replies, I think I now know. Why anyone would want this attention, is unimaginable, but in the end, we all have different wants and needs.

Keep us posted if you do this, I’d love to hear a Tacoma doing this

I know this thread is kind of old ,
but I don't think you can do it without impacting the cats, I have done this like 6 months ago CATs are fine so far but definetly i am gonna delete them:thumbsup: , but you do need to remove the muffler to get the Pops and crackles ... it's makes Taco super fun to drive:burnrubber: specially when adding a butterfly valve to open and close the exchaust before the muffler :D...

Sound's really fun ! Thanks for sharing. Did you get check engine message on the screen after removing the muffler ? Or you managed to tune it to uncheck the box of the catalysts?

No check engine, everything is fine even the cataliser and O2 sensor readings are fine.
I am not 100% sure but I recall unchecking the downstream O2 Sensors " the ones that come after the catalysts" in the tune file just in case ;)

Stock wheels and suspension. Random "utilitarian" mods featured on this great forum.
Coming to a dealer near you at some point, "a gently used and modified Toyota Tacoma. Older driver, never took it off-road and babied the hell out of it."

I thought only VW, Audi and Beemer people did this so I must be getting old.
