Nothing special. A week and a half ago, I acquired a stripped AR-15 lower. I had no real plans for it, but yesterday, it was suggested to me to check out Bear Creek Arsenal. So I did...and found this, which piqued my interest for a new build:

    https://www.bearcreekarsenal.com/9m...ck-4-sch-nrail-bufferless-upper-old-rail.html

One thing led to another, and now I have one on the way. Along with it, I bought some mags:

A few weeks ago, I found an STL file (3d print file) that interested me: a folding brace. It will work perfect for this project. I have a file for a grip too, already printed one for my other pistol.

Gave my son in law a 450BM mag going to see if he can model and print some followers for me. Only difference between them and a regular 556 mag is the follower yet they cost considerably more

I have answered the demand with a cannon shot, and our flag still waves proudly from the walls - I shall never surrender or retreat.
    - W B Travis

The "holding action", much like 101st Airborne holding Bastogne in the Battle of the Bulge, stalled the larger enemy army and allowed time for the army to assemble. Santa Anna did not fare well in the second battle.

Wake Island, held the Japanese forces rolling across the Pacific as part of December 7 1941 long enough to prevent total takeover. One of the few times the American prisoners were given some respect for the way they fought (military yes, but not the civilian construction crew who also fought hard).

Everything for the AR-9 showed up and got the brace printed, trying the grip again...printer issues...

How is the BCA stuff? I've heard mixed reviews but was thinking of buying a 350 legend upper from them for my kid to deer hunt with (as long as that first shot fires, probably good enough lol).

Looks legit, haven't had a chance to fire it yet. They came recommended by my local FFL. We'll see.

I built 2 ARs on Bear Creek kits with CMMG lowers. One 5.56 and one 7.62x39. I never had a problem with either. I don’t think I put more than 500 rounds through either, but enough to see that my limited sample was 1st quality budget equipment. There’s a discussion somewhere online where a hog hunting outfit uses BCA because they make great basic equipment that won’t make you cringe if it gets leaned against a barbed wire fence or dropped on rocks. I wish I hadn’t sold them, but my AR collection was getting out of control.

BCA had QC in the beginning.
They are still a "Budget" manufacturer but have corrected heir problems from 15 years ago.

I've got a BCA upper on my AR. It's fine.

I'm usually in the "buy once, cry once" camp, but just to have an extra deer gun around for the boys, I'll take a budget option for sure.

I think the thing a lot of people forget is that the budget rifles of today are better than what we sent our sons and brothers into Vietnam with.
We have had 60+ years of technology and metallurgy improvements.

Absolutely! I can honestly say any of the ones I have are tighter and run smoother than the A1’s I carried. Granted I’d love to put an A1 together with a M203 like I had but time will tell.

    Lol!
I’m maxed out on rack space. I went down from 7 ARs to 5 and immediately used the $ for something else. IMG_1123.jpg

Absolutely! I recently bought a Savage Axis in .223 that reliably holds 1” groups with ammo it likes. Out of a $350 rifle!

That's an awesome gun room Bill, very cool collection!

However, you might want to repurpose one of those walls with some more vertical gun racks. That seems to be a much more efficient use of wall space. Then you can collect some more...:hattip::infantry:
