Please help me decide what to do for my 40th birthday next month! We have a few ideas on the table but no clear standouts. Would love to hear what y’all think of these or if you have any better ideas!

    - San Diego for some beach time and a Padres game
    - Vegas for some shows (for me) and strip clubs (for Amber)
    - camping somewhere near the Grand Canyon
    - Moab (probably need to do too much shit to my truck first to actually do this one…)
    - Fresno County for a CNC boot camp

First longer drive for the taco today since heart transplant (aka engine).

    Was going well until...

I was going ~70 and went to go around someone and I wasn't able to go no more and ummm...I hope that is misfire; pulled off, nothing obvious - dead spot for cell so decided to limp it to town where I could park safely and take a better look.

Thank glob - just a couple melted spark plug wires. Clip came off and the wires were chilling less than a finger width from raw tarbo; yap yap yap.

Zip tie rescue and some electrical tape from the bike shop; she good as new.

Phew. Bigger trip/drive tomorrow, so good to clear things with this little 1 hour to SF run and 1 hour back. Plus some time of panic, because NOT THE GUMDROP BUTTON!!!!

I've put off getting a miter for so long because I use hand tools so much but I've already used it a ton in the week I've had it. One of those slap yourself in the forehead tool purchases, "shoulda done this a long while ago."

That press is a tank. Not fancy, but it just works. It's a Skil, not sure they have these anymore, it's been a while since I looked. I really need to clean it this year, chuck is getting surface rust and the height adjustment needs cleaned/oiled etc., but it just fires right up and gets things done.

Ah okay that makes sense then. Mine's a '15, has just the right amount of tech I'm comfy with, no big touchscreens or anything but it's nice having a backup camera for the first time.

Well that saw looks freaking nice.

This ash hardwood just came in this morning for another stool I'm making.

Just drilled out the holes and remembered why I don't bother with wood working at all

But cmon, look how good they look! Plus wood smells better than metal haha.
Wonder what a contoured stool seat would be like...get the scorper out and start chiseling.
