This is after a full day at a Lift service Downhill mountain (Attitash in NH). This bike handled it without an issue.

    DUDE!

    Don't be a crackpot.

If there is one thing about Mnt Bkrs we don't judge. We're like harley riders, you bike and that's good enough for us and you are cool.

So don't bag on your lady.

I am currently rebuilding a 2003 Giant VT 2 Full Suspension and I am digging the money that I am saving.

Although these bikes look nice and are the Top shelf of Technology, they carry a heafty price tag. But they are nice for sure.

Here are some of the ladies that I have had.
The Specialize are early models the one hanging is my current hardtail, SINGLE speed.

Yeah I said, SINGLE SPEED! When you girls get older you might want to CHALLENGE your self. I can kick with the big guns all day long with ONE gear.

The dismantled big is the project...

We ended up going Friday. No MTB racing, just road races and the vendor forum.

    Saw some cool bikes.

GT is making some new stuff.

This Renovo is made of wood...

There were demos available from some mfg's as well as shows down in the vendor area.

Most of the vendor area was nothing really new; just a bunch of socks and other cheap stuff to buy. Of course, Kenda was there selling tires and you could get work done at Fox or a bicycle mfg'r if you were racing.

The pro XC course was almost 40miles long. Downhill action was just practice. The road race was kinda boring (sorry, not into that). The real racing was Saturday/Sunday and I wasn't there :(

Good times though and if you're in the neighborhood next year, worth going for a look see.

The Giant Reign 2 is what I am looking at picking up soon. A buddy of mine is looking to get the Reign 1. He has been riding for awhile and I am just getting into the sport.

    Hey there,
I don't understand your wanting to upgrade this bike. It comes with Hydraulic brakes and has a rock shoc tora(?) fork on it. Unless your Dakar is pre-2001... I think that's the year it came out with mechanical brakes.
BTW, Pricepoint.com has BB7 brakes for like $35.00 per wheel! Personally I would buy a used specialized in what ever catagory you're looking at. I ride a speci Enduro expert, 2010 model, posted here last year.
Take a look at Pinkbike.com and browse the used section, lots of deals on year or two old bikes. I've sold three bikes on there.(same user name)
take a look at the specialized stumpjumper comp, there's about 5 pages of them on pinkbike.
    Ride on!

Hey Crazy mountain bikes guys I got a question! So im buying a Giant bike from a friend who is crazy into mountain biking for a STEAL. He put a ton of time and money into it. Its a full suspension. Well I got a hardtail Diamond Back Response and I LOVE it so I kinda want to put some money into it as well. Should I get a new fork and front suspension on it? I took it out today and god its a nice ride. It doesn't have a locker on the front suspension so I would love to upgrade the suspension so I can lock it

I think lockout on a fork is nearly worthless and definitely the lowest priority when looking at forks.

Hey Sock awesome SC! What wheels are those?

    they are Mavic CrossTrails.
great compromise between weight and cost.

lighter than CrossRide and much less expensive than CrossMax

    Anybody into mtb videos?

A buddy of mine dropped off a few the other day and I have to say the quality and style of these are pretty damn good. Great cinematography, good riding. Great sound tracks. Amazing style and Crazy stunts.

So far, these are two I've liked. Best to watch on a HD set and with the volume at 11.

    The Collective "Roam".

VAS Films "Life Cycle". Easily one of the best mtb vids I've seen.
