I ended up getting $109 for the whole load, minus the engine…

If you have to haul another one, l would set it on an old tire along with a couple straps to secure, shouldn't slide around.

For my 16th Birthday. I got a Craftsman tool set.
The 250ish piece tool set. I think you need a decent tool set.
5 mins. and you could have had that pan off.

I can't imagine cutting one off with a sawzall.
    What a mess.

I will give it to. You worked for your money this time.

Now, how you plan to clean the oil off your parents driveway?

The bolts were too tight and my adjustable wrench couldn’t handle it…

Yeah adjustable wrenches are pretty useless, one of the few tools l reach for, they are however good for bending metal if need be. I agree with the other guys that you should pick up some kind of general basic set, even something from Harbor Freight would work.

And it shows no signs of quitting! Just passed the yearly PA safety inspection and emissions test with flying colors! Only things wrong with it are…
    • Brake/shift interlock no longer works
    • Burns roughly a quart of oil between oil changes
    • Left speaker has a loose wire or is possibly blown
    • The aforementioned bent tailgate

Might have 3-5 more years left in the ol' girl.
I like to start "thinking" about a new truck once I have to add oil at 1 qt per 2,000 miles.
Or do like I did in my old Bronco, 1/4 qt each gas fill up. (That gets old.........)
Didn't even check the level, just poured it in.

It's rather fun watching you in this side hustle. If I live up close to you we would make a killing. Seems like you found an untapped source of income. Down here it's the homeless people that scrap or steal your shit.

I was doing the side hustle as well today hauling hay bales.

    IMG_8783.jpg IMG_8784.jpg

I had my bigger trailer out first, but these hay bails were sketchy to haul double stacked.

Well, that goddamn engine block made a mess of both my truck and my parents' driveway, so I'm lying low with the scrapping for a little while. I bought some kitty litter to absorb the remnants, but I've gotten into it with my dad about this before, and now dismantle HVAC equipment at a friend's property.

Probably a good idea amigo. The oil absorbent will work pretty good if you scuff it around with your feet....

Can the cat litter absorb oil more than a day later?

Yeah. A day should do it and use your feet to grind it up. Works well.
