A few questions about a 2021 Tacoma

I have a 2021 Tacoma TRD Offroad that I bought used. I just realized that the truck has no badges on the rear tailgate but does have the "tacoma" badges on the left and right sides of the truck.

I see Tacomas with a 4x4 and a V6 badge on the tailgate driving around and am wondering if the badges and placement changed with the year. The tailgate has the stamped "TACOMA" lettering and is factory, but I see no evidence of any badge having been there.

Also, can the 12V power socket at the front of the vehicle be used with a Toyota OEM cigar lighter, or do those not work in these newer Tacomas?

 

The previous owner probraly removed the badges on tailgate. My 2023 TRD OffRoad 4x4, from brand new, only had V6 badge.
I don’t smoke, so I no really care about OEM cigar lighter.

 

Badges can be added and removed as desired. You can put an F150 badge on there if you want.

 

thanks for the information - I had no idea those badges could be easily removed. It’s strange he removed the V6 badge but kept the “tacoma” badges on the sides of the truck.

Is there any way to reinstall an OEM badge so that it looks right again?

 

I do not know about OEM badge for 2021 TRD OffRoad. Either go to a Toyota dealer, they need the VIN number, or look around on eBay.

 

Get 40 more posts under your belt and post in WTB or just make it known in this post you want to buy factory badges someone took off and I’m sure someone could accommodate. Or just rebadge what you have left on the truck. It’s a cleaner look anyway.

 

My 2021 OR has V6 only on the tailgate.
I've removed the other "Toyota" badges and there is no evidence they were ever there to begin with. Paint polishes up good.

I would doubt the CLA works with a lighter - notice there is no longer an ash tray as well.

 

my 22 Pro didn’t come with a v6 badge. I think the tailgate badging on everything but the sr5 is a random thing …although, every Pro truck I’ve seen seems to show the same badge lay out.

 

I'm pretty sure our '21 TRD Off Road only has the V6 Badge on the Tailgate. I'll look tomorrow in the Daylight.

I think it’s cleaner without the badges. I wouldn’t worry about it.

 

This is my 2021 TRD OR with the 'badging' as it came from the factory:

 

I think the world pretty much knows these trucks have a V6. I always thought that was a stupid badge. Mine is gone.

 

I have MGM paint color, and decided to black out the badges. I think it looks good. For the tailgate, I added the 4x4 badge on the left to even it out with V6 on the right. Black 4x4 emblem is Toyota part 75473-0C050 ($20 ish).

The emblem attachment specs are attached.

 

My DCSB TRD O/R has a V6 badge. From the factory as I obsessed and bought this. It never came with the 4x4.

 

I guess the previous owner took the V6 badge off then - doesn't really matter at the end of the day I suppose
