I use the Car Wash, every other week or so...
But in winter, I run it thru the Car Wash once a week.

BTW: My Tacoma is 15 years old and the paint still looks really good.

I'm pushing 70 and I still like my cars ( whatever they may be ) to look good. But rubba-dub-dub in 120 degree sun makes
my heart go fk-this.... I feel like I need a nitro-tab under my tongue after 5 minutes. Not sure I want to invoke a cardiac over
a clean car but then again, is that any worse than just sitting on my bum all day and falling out of my chair eating dinner?

Nah, you don't want to spend any amount of time outside in this heat, especially with health concerns. You see all these idiots on the news needing to be rescued off of trails and mountains because of heat stroke
I used to work out in this stuff day after day but i won't do it anymore.

Or wait on some wind chill.

    Which reminds me -

We should all mourn the passing of Paul Siple, the man who created the formula for the wind-chill-factor.
He died recently at 85 years of age......
    but he felt 76...

After getting pin striped from going off road, I stopped caring about going through car washes…

then I added a high air intake and won’t go through them anymore.

Nothing beats a good two bucket hand wash. Now there are circumstances which may prevent someone from washing their own car by hand. No driveway, no time, in the case of OP high temps. So auto car washes do serve a purpose.

I never did go car wash. But I wash in late in afternoon, I use Adam’s Mega Foam with Foam Cannon, and low pressure Ryobi pressure washer, from Home Depot.;)

    LS1 swap with nitros.
I wash mine at home (Phx metro area) around 730pm. The sun is setting and it feels half as hot as during the daytime. It helps to get some shade from the house on the truck but it’s still warm at 105+. Put a cooling rag around your neck, use a foam gun to cut down on labor and then blow dry with a leaf blower. Then pool, beer, or beer and pool as the cold water in the shower is still 110F coming out and doesn’t work to cool you down.

Hell I don't even bother turning on the 'hot-water' it comes out hot enough on the cold setting.
It's a brisk 98 outside now at 10:15 but the energy is zapped just stretching out the hose. I'm gonna have to
bite the bullet and wait a few weeks to do it myself or chew the bullet and run it through a wash.

This time of year is pig pen season in AZ. Too damn hot to wash/detail cars. I don't know how far you are from the Thumb in north scottsdale, but they do alright for a fee. The also have a nice indoor store with collectables for sale and a decent food menu. They were on Diners Dive ins and Drives.

    https://www.thethumb.com/

I wouldn't risk your health just to wash the truck. Plenty of professional detailers around the valley, but you're looking at a couple hundred and up for someone good.

With AZ's record breaking heat waves year after year and the ongoing water shortage I don't think that state is going to be habitable in the near future.

For the first time ever, I took my 2023 to a car wash.
    Cost was $45 + $5 tip.
It was machine washed, then half a dozen people hand dried the exterior, then detailed the interior.

I have gotten to the age where I value my time (and back) far more than $50.

Went out to check on my soon to bloom sunflowers this morning. I got 3 about to open up....

Got a little irrigation setup to turns on twice a day for five minutes. This morning I stepped on it
and I felt resistance, I discovered the outer layer was melting, stuck like chewing gum. Two years
ago my neighbors water hose just exploded, and one of mine did as well. Oh yea my windshield wiper
    melted onto the glass too.

Hoping for a break in the next week or two in this wave.

I lost so many plants a couple years back with the streak of 110+ days. The roots fried. The Junipers I had next to the block wall cooked and died a miserable death. The Oleanders were the only plants un phased.
