This site's huge so I'm sure it's been posted before, but it works so well I'm hoping others can get use from it.

Simple 50:50 mix of Auto Transmission fluid and Acetone. Not the diluted Acetone but the straight stuff.

Much better than PB Blast, WD-40, etc.

If anyone has something better post it up, always looking for anything that makes wrenching easier.

That is called ''Ed's Red.'' Been around for 50 years.

I use kroil which works well and I'd bet it's close with less acetone.

Problem with acetone is it evaporates REALLY easily so if you want it to work properly, you usually need to refresh the acetone in the mix.

The problem is its a pain in the ass.

Mopar and Toyota branded penetrating oil are pretty heavy with acetone.

The big thing is knowing how it works. It doesn't magically loosen the bolt. I'll never understand why people think spraying a bolt will make it come loose.

Remember Gibbs? That was pretty close to Kroil, It was always a PITA to find locally, I recently found a big can of it I had stashed away. Have plenty of Kroil, I used to get flyers for 2 for the price of 1 for the big cans from Kano and I used to always get a couple cans. Gave Dad one and he thought he had died and gone to Heaven because it worked so well.

I also used to heat up rusted nuts and use a paraffin candle on the threads to wick wax into the nut. It works way better then one might think it does. And then I got my induction heater.............that, Kroil, and an impact on low works wonders.

Just hot, doesn't need to be red hot, just hot enough to wick in melted wax. Let it cool and the lubrication it provides can do wonders.

You have to keep those away from Marines though, candles don't have that issue.
