I hope I'm okay sharing my dream pickup here on this forum selection. Since I have a 1994 I didn't want to get anyone mad but I will need some advice as my journey starts with this truck.

Thank and I have enjoyed so many of the threads. A wealth of knowledge here by what I can see.

My new dream is a 1994, 4x4, V6, 160K miles, IMG_6722.jpg no rust to speak of and interior is really good except carpet needs a deep cleaning.

awesome truck! i had a 1991 standard cab with the 22re!

the best advice i can give is take that 3.blow out of the truck and swap in a 3.4 from a 1st gen tacoma... the 3.0 wasnt that great of a motor. other then that its an awesome little truck! wish i still had mine!

Welcome to TW, don't bother cleaning it, just pull the seats and put in new carpet, it's not that expensive. (Link for example only)

I had one of these, traded it on a Nissan, biggest mistake of my life (one of them anyway. :-D ) People say the engine sucks but never had issues with it, though I changed out the timing belt and internal water pump.

I had the little 4wd version of that in same blue metallic single cab 4cyl manual transmission bench seat
One of Biggest mistake I made was trading in that little blue pickup for an all-new Tacoma with bigger engine more HP more torque and so much nicer seats. Big mistake...

I had a 95 pre-Tacoma exactly like yours but black. I drove that thing for 9 years through highschool and college and put over 200,000 on it. I wish I still had a pic of it. It’ll always have a special place in my heart.

See it still has the front drive flanges. Before you need 4wd you need to test it as crappy ADD vacuum system on them fail constantly. They failed even when new. Fix is manual locking hubs and moving the add collar to the locked position and hose clamping it.
Does your heater work? Almost all 3.blows that I work on nowadays have had headgasket fix poured into the rad at some point and plug up the heater cores.

you should check every spark plug and make sure they are tight as they loosen and ruin the threads.

You are going to be chasing vacuum leaks so buy a roll of the common sizes.

overall with the 3.0 they are slow and not as great as the 22re, buuuuut if you keep it healthy it will last and be fine just drive it until it does its thing. then swap er out for a 3.4 or be like all the cool kids and throw an ls in it lol

Congrats!! I miss my 91, had a 22re with a 4" stack thing sounded terrible and looked ridiculous but I do miss that thing! I love the old pickups

Weak point on these is the head gasket

treat it gently......I'd change coolant every couple years.....seriously

those trucks are super hot around here with the Mexicans

you'd be propositioned around here all the time....

I'm curious as to what transmission # you have
......that should be on the door post sticker
