Ya, they all looked a tad rusty. I'm glad the Niners got Saleh back. I think he will get their D clicking again after a couple turkey coaches. Denver may be pretty good this year. The Niners need to come back from the dead of last season. They have a lot of new faces to mold.

 

Coaching continuity means a lot. Hopefully Saleh won’t have to start from nothing and the schedule should help but it’s remarkable how often teams play down to the opponents level instead of up to potential. And it doesn’t help when you get to playoffs thinking your record means something. I expect they’ll be good but not great and eventually lose to a more tested and less scrambled team.

 

So I think the Cowboys win here. CeeDee Lamb got a penalty while on the sideline not suited up!. LOL

 

Any comments on the Chargers/Saints game? I'll wait...

 

Lance had a good game

 

Lance did have a good game. I'm still not convinced that he is a franchise QB. I think that he should have stayed in college at least a couple more years.

It's almost like the football media hates Nix.

There were a couple guys the other day on a podcast yapping about overrated he is and he'll have a sophomore slump and regress this year. Go to the 1:05:45 mark. Like what??? I remember Tebow getting this kind of hate largely because of his faith in God. This feels similar to that for Nix because he too is a Christian. I don't get it.

Good news for Nix is he is on an improving team and will get the chance to show if he’s a champion level QB. Of the 5 QB’s drafted before him, Daniels is the only one that clearly had a better rookie year.

 

The ESPN hate of Nix and Denver is unreal.

 

Welcome to BSPN. If it wasn't for my Hulu live account granting me access to ESPN+, I would certainly be spending less time on the site. In all fairness though, it is a bold prediction. Meaning the author does not expect it to happen. So the odds that Nix retains his starting job in 2027 is waaay greater than his odds of losing it. But I am very familiar to the hate game. Look what they said about Brock Purdy for 3-ish years.

LOL, Nix out in 2027? I've been a Broncos and Oregon Ducks FB fan for decades so have had the opportunity to watch Nix over the past three years. Whether or not he turns our to be a HOF QB remains to be seen, but right now the kid's solid. He might have a sophomore slump because he's now getting greater attention from opposing teams, but he'll continue to grow and improve. A goodly amount of his growth is due to Payton, his approach and the consistency of his position as HC. Personally, I believe the Broncos have found their franchise guy and am looking forward to this year.

 

Eh, I checked out of ESPN after the Adam Jones (the Orioles outfielder) incident in Boston..which was abhorrent, but then one of the people on the air said Boston is all like that. I cancelled my subscription and when asked why explained that since they feel that way they don't need this Mass resident's money.

 

I heard about some Tom Brady statue, Patriots historians rejoice. They are in their 80s Steelers phase. When you're losing you celebrate the past. When you're winning you celebrate the present.

Being that Drake Maye is a UNC guy I am rooting for him of course.

Can you believe Kyler Murray was a No. 1 pick? I mean, I said at the time he was not going to be good. And here we are. Guy wanted nothing to do with a study mandate in his contract.

If you had told Brady he had to study film as part of his contract he would have said "Yeah, so? I was doing that anyways."

Perhaps, but I also see TFB as being a generational athlete. I would if he played for any other team too. Especially being a long suffering Pats(ies) fan.

I think you're right about those 6 being there end of the season, maybe one could come off that list. If I had to pick right now who to remove, San Fran. Grudgingly so, but you are in a state of flux with no more Deebo and at least 6 weeks missing Brandon Aiyuk. Gonna be huge to see what happens in your backfield, I love Run CMC but the health thing..
