Changing my oil at my sisters place and don’t have a wrench, can I keep using the current filter for another 5k or should I go get a wrench?

It's fine, the filters are rated for 10,000miles

Not ideal but if you need to get it changed do it. Otherwise there's no point in half baked oil changes.

Given the manufacturer recommended interval is 10k, you should be good to go.

If this is your first oil change I’d prefer a fresh filter.

    you will be fine.

I was amazed at how clean the filter was on the 21 Tundy at 5,000 miles.

    looked new

You could keep the old one, but stop procrastinating & go get the wrench if you need one!

You could also stab it with a screwdriver and twist it free.

You can use those crush washers a couple times to be perfectly honest.

I did have one separate after the second use on our Camry. I probably over-torqued it as I've never seen one do that before. Luckily I keep the old ones in my toolbox.
