60+ year old thread.

Sitting in my buddy’s living room, I sold it to his brother years ago because I needed the money
I bought the bike from my other buddies dad for $800. , sold it two years later to my buddies brother for $900. That was in 78’-79’ can’t imagine what it’s worth today, all original paint, some minor touch up

 

Wow, not what I'm used to seeing today.

 

I was in a Costco or Sam's Club once and they had a similar looking bike by the front door as a display, and they were selling them. Something like $600/800 and the story was the bikes were stored in crates in a warehouse and forgotten since the sixties. Some Italian or Czech brand, or something obscure. Probably very hard to find parts for.

Having a neighborhood get together later this afternoon to celebrate our street finally getting repaved after close to 40 years!
Had a special order sheet cake ordered from Costco, the decorator lady said she could not put any cuss words on it though.
We wanted it to say "About Damn Time!" It's fine the way it came out anyway.

 

I like the Gorilla carts, and the Gravely is appropriate for the haul. (We had a Gravely tractor for blowing snow off the larger floating docks in Cordova AK, but later switched the fleet to Honda track-drive walk-behind blowers as the guys stayed warmer with the exercise.)

 

And it was? I had Chicken Schnitzel

 

Grass fed beef burgers and corn on da cob. I screwed up, taking husks off of one ear by habit. Face palm.

 

Evening all:

, maybe at one time when the places that we are hunting were loaded with deer.
If things are as bad as last year, I was thinking about making up a sign with "will work for venison" and standing out by the road with it, maybe someone will take pity on me! It's either that or start patrolling for fresh roadkill!
Even if we get a deer with my buddies 2 grandsons with us it normally would get split 4 ways, that's when you find out that deer aren't as big as most people think they are. If one of them would get a deer I think I will just let them share it and hope that my buddy and I can get one to share They can get a deer out, but it's still up to either my buddy and I to gut it, then skin it and butcher it up, they don't know how to do that yet. Always the option to just take it to a butcher, but I like getting my own meat back which isn't always guaranteed at some butchers, especially when it comes to things like sausage where they make big batches of it.
Soon time to put a trail cam out on my property, only seen a few doe and a small buck around so far, and the bear with her cubs.

 

Wonder what she would have said if you said, OK how about "About Dam Time", no cuss word there!

 

Not exactly new to the thread, I just don't post much. I actually need an older thread, I'm 71. I guess that still qualifies me for 60+, though, just add another "+".
The mower deck is 62". I many times wish it was a 72" deck, but that's what came with the tractor when I bought it 6 years ago. It's a 2009 model, had 300 hours on it. It has 1200 on it now, I use it for a lot of stuff other than mowing.

 

Where is that on the BRP? I'm only a 45 minute drive to the area around Little Switzerland or around Linville Falls. I've spent a lot of my life driving that road and hiking the trails.

I had a '74 model Z-1B similar to the one next to your Honda. Best all-around bike I ever owned and the next-to-last one before I quit riding in 1987.

Cool picture, what organization did you race in? I road raced two seasons with WERA back in the 1980's in the Endurance Series. We rode an RZ-350 Yamaha and a FJ-600 Yamaha in Lightweight and Medium weight superbike classes, a motley crew about like yours.

My last two bikes, a 1974 Z-1B and a 1985 GpZ-900 Ninja. I'm on the track at Rockingham, NC in the first picture and at Watkins Glen in the second one. Poor picture, a friend made it in Turn 1 with a throwaway camera.

I know it well. Ever driven NC 151 down the mountain towards Candler from there at Mt. Pisgah? It's about 3 miles north of the lodge where you start down the mountain. I did it a few times in my Miata, what a ride. Down the crooked part, then back up, hoping you don't meet another car.

Thanks for all of the car show pics everyone! My buddy from Highschool restored a 1962 Polara 500 Convertible factory red with white interior and v8 with dual 4 BBLs at 19 years old. We toured Norcal with that car at a LOT of shows in 82-84. The pics bring back a lot of great memories from that time!
