Intake box elbow mod. Hopefully that cuts down on the air flow restriction getting into the box. I'm sure the two 90deg bends between the box and throttle body don't help either.

Time to replace the shifter bushings again. This now takes no time at all now.

To each their own. I’m nearing 50 and am not going to drive in pain. It’s pretty ridiculous people scoff at spending that kind of money on something you literally are the most connected to in something you spend hours, sometimes days or weeks driving continuously, yet they’ll drop tens of thousands on suspension, wheels, tires, lights, lockers, gears, and steel someone else fabricated.

I wanted Recaro Specialists ($1200 a seat), but a lot of people don’t know they were bought out at the end of 2024 after bankruptcy and the new ownership discontinued all of their reclining seats but one very racing styled seat.

This is my 4th set of seats- stock sucks and is a complete crapshoot to find in decent shape used, then Subaru Crosstrek=too tall and I’m done experimenting with used seats, then Procar=cheep shit as would be Corbeau, Sparco, and anything else out there. I’m done fucking around in a truck I’ve owned over 20 years and will continue to own some variant for another 10 to 20.

Do you know the approximate weight of each seat? It was brought to my attention recently that apparently my mastercraft seats are really heavy compared to most other options which was surprising

How does that quote go? “Don’t cheap out on boots or mattresses, because if you’re not in one, you’re in the other” something like that. I’d add truck seats as a close third to those.

On travel in AZ came a couple days early to go hiking in Flagstaff. Ended up with a 2024 TRD rental. It’s huge but nice still. My ‘99 is better though of course. They also get about the same gas mileage…

Mostly cosmetic but she ain’t stock(looking) anymore.
Yeah I did my drivers side over a year ago and it’s taken this long for it to break in and close properly without a firm push.

Putting a new rack, finally. Think I found a problem… rack stud on top of D bushing (passenger side) looks bent up. Couldn’t tell ya if that’s how is stock or not. Tried to put in the 333 fab billet mount and that’s how I fingered it out… hmm now what anyone ran into this?

They’re not light, I’d guess around 60lbs a seat, but they felt lighter than that. @turbodb has Vario’s (over $2500 a seat) in his truck, they’re around 70lbs, and there are more adjusters for the seat base and lumbar.

You had some issue with your floor caving, correct?

Amen- that’s why it’s Red Wing, Thorogood, or Danner. If it doesn’t have the little American flag on it, I’m not buying them.

It was an extremely hard pill to swallow. I look at is I already wasted $400 not including hardware and time on the Crosstrek seats, then another $400 for Corbeau bases and long travel seat sliders, then another $600 on Procar seats.

My wife was the one who I had too convince, but after 8-10 hours in the seat on the Oregon BDR she agreed, no more cheap seats.

She okayed the Recaros, then I went looking for them, literally 6 months after they stopped manufacturing them.

We sat in a set of Recaro Ergomeds (leather, electric, over $4000 a seat) at the shop I bought the Scheel Mann seats from, they had like 4 seats left total. They were bonkers comfortable. Dan, the owner of the shop (425Motorsports in Kirkland) said all the comfort driven Recaro’s, including the entry level models, all basically had the same seat base. I could have cried.

That stud should be level, very bent. How was your rack even attached? There’s no way the lower bolt could have been attached

ha it was attached. Rack went from driver error and stuffing passenger side into a 3’ vertical. Is this stud removable?

Gotta love em, I was hopeful to buy @turbodb's for my Land Cruiser when he reupholstered his stock seats... but he made the right decision and kept the Scheel-Manns and threw the stockers back in storage. Guess I gotta buy new Scheel-Manns instead now, drat.

Need to put mine on a scale, but must be because of the reclining mechanism. They feel close to 50lbs
