Control arm bushing sleeves are froze into the bushings. I was pretty sure they would be locked up in there.

I've had good luck just cutting them out with a thin disk.

    That a tomorrow job.

An air hammer is the easiest way I've found for getting the axles out of the hubs.

True, but to gain access to the axle nut, the 4 x 4 manual locking hub assembly needs to be taken apart.

That 24 nuts I don't want deal with.

On an auto hub, all there is, is a cover and big axle nut.

Take videos also. I have found that no matter how many pictures I take the part that I need to see is always just not quite visible in the picture I took. With a video you lessen the chance that there is something that you need to see but the picture does not quite show it.

Control arms were not salvageable. Found rust perforation when I was cutting out the 1st one. Figured might as well save some hassle and just get new ones coming. $200 each. Ouch!

The sad part is these were replaced with OEM ball joints 100 miles ago...which was 5 years ago.

    Slick.

I got the exact same hoist I used to pull the engine and transmission.

When the engine gets dropped back in the new chassis, it going up for sale. Its used so seldom, I just get pissed tripping over the thing. See, ya!

    Tomorrows project.

Wife said she would paint if I cleaned up the parts and prepped them.

    Deal!

My wife painted up the major parts for the next step.

Now for the parts to dry and I can start hanging parts.

Installed upper control arms in preparation to installing spindle/drive shaft assemblies.

Note: even though you marked which side the upper control arm resides, you need to make sure you have not installed the upper control arm upside down.

The spindle upper ball joint just won't socket in far enough to hold the weight of the assembly.

Guess who got to pull out the heavy ass assembly, flip the control arm and then bolt in the top spindle bolt?

    Tomorrows goal:

Install sway bar, coil overs, attach lower ball joints, tie rod ends and touch up any paint scratches.
