rotated tires changed oil threw out the old air freshener.
Pisgah in native language means "mountain", so "Mt. Pisgah" translates to "mount mountain".

    Go figure!

Sounds like a fun road, I should drive down in my '79 RX-7 just for the thrill!

Personally, I'm sort of tired of the NPS ignoring the shenanigans on the parkway. I hate loud Harleys. I hate loud cars. I go up there to escape the city, not have the city come to the parkway. I never see any Rangers patrolling.

People don't respect anyone anymore. It's all about me. Me. Me.

I have driven a big portion of the parkway, I've driven over from App State. I usually drive between Brevard and Waynesville the 2 spots I like hanging out in.

When I go up to the Parkway it's to read, take a nap, make a cup of coffee or photograph sunsets.IMG_5575.jpg

You guys know what model this bike is? I don't.

Hint - 1947, near Munich, Germany. German bike or British?

Welcome to the thread. Nice work on the flooring.

@wdb thank you for the pictures.

Good morning. I have a funeral today. My cousin passed last week. He was 4 years older than me. I did not know he had been in poor health for the last couple of years.

Oh, I get it, I'm not talking about hooning on the BRP itself. Too dangerous with all the tourists. Technically, NC 151 runs a short way as part of the BRP, from the intersection of the BRP and US 276, but a few miles north of the Pisgah Inn it drops down the west side of the mountain and comes out in Candler on US23.The drop down the mountain is steep and as crooked as any road I've ever seen, many times it is too narrow for cars to pass, so you sort of have to plan the run. It's more fun going up than down, and probably marginally safer too. As for no rangers patrolling, I've had two speeding tickets (both while on a motorcycle) issued by Park Rangers on the BRP. Since they are Fed officers, the ticket is also federal and the third ticket entitles you to a mandatory Federal Court appearance. My first ticket was south of My Pisgah and the second one was near Peaks of Otter up in Virginia.
I never raced at Road America, but the Grand National Finals were held at Road Atlanta when I was racing. I went as far north as Nelson Ledges Ohio, where we had the 24 Hrs of Nelson race. I also raced at Summit Point, WV, Roebling Rd, GA and Talladega Motorsports Park. I got to put my own bike on the track at Watkins Glen one year when California Superbike School was there after an SCCA car race. Running on the Glen was wild and sort of hairy, much of the track didn't have runoff spaces and there was unpadded Armco there. That was the only time I ever redlined my bike in high gear, I had the speedo unhooked but I figure I was doing about 150-155 down the back straight. Back then there was no chicane at the end to slow you down for the long carousel right hand turn.
