Yeah, the pulse welders (for MIG) will run a hefty amount

Think the Miller 350P I had at work was upwards in the $10k range

Pulse in TIG is a different story and available in sub $1k machines, but this ain't TIG

Dude is probably using a yeswelder and stacking tacks

I follow him because he has a fully built and caged Prerunner Chevy 1500

    but
Seeing his welding I fear for that truck ever touching dirt

Lol just like the cookie cutter dudes in the Langmuir FB group

Requests come in daily to join, and so I gotta stalk their profiles to ensure they're not some overseas scammer or bot before I let them in

They got a Youtube channel, they're doing the same cookie cutter sign shit everyone else is doing, and they're not even good at what they do

This accounts for about 75% of member requests - some of the pics of their work is the same SVG/DXF some other dude posted in the group too

And if it’s not cookie cutter signs
It’s really overbuilt extra heavy overpriced gates and fence panels

To add to this, you can gain access to a host of Solidworks applications for 2 years for as little as $20-25 total

Just need to submit an email in which you're given a form to fill out and sign

If I recall correctly, you also have to submit a copy of your DD214 (I redacted my SS and something else) and they were completely fine with taking it that way

Probably just using the more generic info along with in-service and EAS dates to confirm one's actual status

I’m like 80% done with my degree and had to stop classes in person because of using my wheelchair :anonymous:

so I am changing game plans to see if I can be a 3D printing nerd

    Damn

Well good on you for even working on it - I have absolutely no degree, and don't aspire to have one

My wife's got her Master's (got a 4.0 GPA while pregnant with our son too), but she's the type to have the patience to sit down and do shit

Not me, I have ADHD or some shit so I tinker a lot :violent:

3D printing is sort of like CNC plasma, it's real easy to nerd out and get crazy into dialing shit in and just making projects

I didn’t get access to a shit ton of these tools and skills til well after the military so I have had to attend YouTube academy for a ton of it and at a certain point it was just cheaper to use my GI bill to get seat time and trigger time on machines than just vegging out on YouTube.
Without a house and a sizable garage it’s become a pain to be able to have your own shop setup.
    I’ve had a everlast tig since 2019.
    It’s still in the box….
Used my grinder once in my garage at my last apartment and got a 250$ noise violation and a “warning” to not be doing commercial work in my residence…. (I was cutting a socket down to use on my truck)

so the next option seems like 3D printing since you can stash it in a spare bedroom or closet.

I got invited to Fabtech to speak on behalf of AWS this year for overcoming adversity in the face of disability…. (600$ to attend)

    3.8gpa tho

You mean you didn't get to stay at Camp Habbaniya in that one little houses to play Xbox and Playstation with a bunch of games to choose from all sponsored by the Wounded Warriors Project?!

No but I hear ya, there are so many tools and lots of help for veterans fortunately. But on the way out it's either, REUP or just gtfo and goodluck.

    You meant $600....to you, right?......Right?

600$ covered the cost of admission and 1 night in a hotel on premises.
    To speak for 5 minutes.
    But hey
My picture will be in the booth. So that’s cool.

wounded warrior project…. Those guys are just….

    Fuuuuck

And here I was like "oh cool a small kick back" not...oh I gotta pay to be a guest WTF man?

For us, WW just had a bunch of cool goodies and the nurses (Navy) were cute, but that was probably one of the few times where I actually enjoyed our downtime (when I got shot)

I ain't wheelchair bound at all though so my hat off to ya, especially when you're still trying to do what you're doing

It’s more like a restriction than a disability to me

If I could move around normal it would be easy
The chair just makes sqft a bigger issue haha
Fortunately VocRehab is now on the table and they love to pay for equipment necessary to your degree haha

    It’s here!!

The TMW flat pack pallet is a tidy little package, no problem having all my other crap in the way and still getting the wife’s car in the garage.

everything looks great, quality materials and no damage in shipping. Gonna be a fun little project putting it together!

Free shipping on orders over $899, which was reason enough alone to zero in on these guys (self fixturing assembly is the real game changer though)!

I did have to pay an extra $99 for liftgate service though and tipped the driver $20 to push it in to the garage instead of leaving it in the street.
