    I was stationed at Camp Pendleton for almost 5 years, I enjoyed SoCal but could have never been able to afford to live there, this was back in the late 80's - early 90's.

    The place is absolutely beautiful, geographically. It was a horrible place for me, politically. The SoCal deserts to the NorCal Sierra Nevadas, its stunning.

    The Sierra’s are fantastic. The desert is… meh. After you’ve seen the same Joshua Trees 50 times, they get old lol
