Sure, the typical datacenter rack is the size of a tall (slightly narrow) fridge or upright freezer. Yes, chips tend to be small, though since large chips would have an advantage as within-chip communications speeds tend to be much higher than chip-to-chip speeds. Still, any device using them would still tend to need to fit either within a rack or be sized similar to a rack. Storage arrays are an example, think of a fridge filled with SSDs. Comes as a unit, but sized/shaped to line up with all the other datacenter racks. Kinda like how shipping containers ended up pretty standardized.

You don’t need to defend your purchase but it is cramped back there that’s not just one opinion but many and by many reviewers. Your “receipts” whatever that means / pictures shown are from the headerest not a good representation of the knee and actual space for the rear passengers.

Not everyone, but a lot of people demonize what they can’t have (that hot girl in the bar that won’t talk to you, she’s a bitch right?). It’s often done subconsciously.

Maybe not wasted but the real thing won't be able to live up to the AI expectations that will become what is thought to be normal. After only a short does of AI reality won't be as satisfying. Social media has already proved that.

Hardly demonizing and pretty sure I can have one. Just dropped $74k on a GX550 for my wife. Such a silly rebuttal people make here. Just cause it’s the new new and shiny doesn’t mean it’s superior in all aspects, those seats suck in most people’s opinion just like there’s sucky things on my 3rd gen, my wife’s new car etc.

I said can't have not can't afford. If you can't have something because it doesn't meet your real or perceived needs you demonize it ("stupid f**king seats). Just an observation. Toyota may make the Iso Seats optional but the rear window shape is not going to change for a while so I guess any 4g Tacoma model is not in your future.

Calling a feature on something “f**king stupid” is hardly demonizing the entire thing. I can deal with the window size the seats were a deal breaker for me as I really only care for the look of the pro with this gen. I’ve had every gen I don’t see myself straying away next truck, hopefully the seats disappear like the stupid desert intake did. I wouldn’t mind the HUD returning and a more beneficial feature in my opinion than the iso seats, have come to love my wife’s.

AI chips are no larger than normal chips.

    AI chunks are huge, however.

Suffice to say, the iso seats are tad controversial... just really hoping word (Toyota press release, that have already been forth coming for other models !) on them as now an option or not for '26 comes soon... again, 2025 model changes press release did not drop until Dec 17th of '24 -- wowza.

Where are the damn "Apple style" leaks when you need them?

I am interested in a TRD Pro but would prefer the HUD. Do we know if 2026 continues to omit the HUD or is it back? I think I read somewhere on the forum that it might be back and present on the 2026 TRD Pro in Wavemaker that was reviewed by the Youtubers but I can't tell.

Otherwise might just go for a 2025 Limited.

Don't make a truck purchase based on a 3" display screen.

The HUD would be something you look at every time you drive. I don't think it is a minor thing and if it is something they really want then let them decide on their own. I had a HUD on my late 90s Grand Prix and it was very nice to have and see without having to look down at the dash all the time. I figured that would be standard on vehicles going forward if a mid-range Grand Prix has it of all things, so I'm baffled it is still so uncommon! Not my #1 reason in choosing a trim, but it would certainly be a consideration. (Ugh on all the chrome on Unlimiteds though, they need a midnight edition with it all blacked out or something.)

The Wavemaker Pro was likely a repainted 2024 test truck and the '24s had HUDs. Not sure if they dropped it from the '25s to keep the price down (it's a $900 option on the GX550) or because of parts availability. I liked the idea of having a HUD since I had one in my last ride and was disappointed the '25s didn't have it. I was already in for $64K, I would have paid an extra $900 for an optional HUD.

But the truck is so awesome even without the HUD, you will be grinning every time you walk up to it and even more when you're driving it. I wouldn't go to a Limited just for a HUD.

Seems like a feature you could live with out if you really want the Pro.

Believe me nobody is changing their Tacoma purchase based on what I say.

Thanks for everyone's feedback. The HUD isn't the only factor, but one of many factors. I wouldn't purchase the '25 Pro knowing HUD will return in '26.

The Limited is all I need. The Pro is certainly a want and I recognize it's in a different class. The Limited has much more discounts while the Pro really isn't.

Still on the quest to determine whether 2026 has HUD or not. Guess I'll have to wait to see.
