    2003 Toyota Tacoma.
Just replaced the TPS, on the way to work Monday lost power trying to pass a SEMI. Still having the same issue of no throttle tell about 2/3 the way.
    I tried:
Pulling the battery (15min) no luck.
Turn the ignition on, pressing the pedal to the floor and up 3 times. No luck.
Starting and letting idle no luck.

I still have a check engine light. Sensor 8945212040

Okay this is pointing me in the right direction. The other issue is have noticed is when I gave toyota my Vin they referenced wrong part numbers for my truck. When I gave them the part number from the image I found online they told me the sensors weren't placed on my truck or they were only installed on the Tundra.

This sounds more like the APPS than TPS. Pedal response is handled through the APPS, which then sends to ECM, then to throttle valve motor (under the TB), then the TPS reads if it is correct and reports back to ECM.

the APPS is the piece where the throttle cable attaches on the front of the TB. Could try disconnecting and cleaning contacts in the plug/connector to make sure it's not saturated or corroded.

I've heard somewhere that they need to be calibrated together which is why Toyota never sold them separately, always as part of the whole TB. But others have had success with just replacing the TPS with the Aisin part.

I’m experiencing the same thing. New TPS sensor should be here today. Hopefully that’s what it is and not the APPS

Asked a guy on FB who does alot of toyota work and he said it could be the TB. The thing I don't get is why I dont have throttle tell almost 2.5 - 3 k. My truck also has CA emissions

Ok update, brought to a shop. They replaced the TB and issue resolved
They tried the sensors I bought and they check engine light came back. I told them to just use the new sensors that came on the TB. Cost me 1k but im getting almost 18mpg now and feels like a new truck. Thanks everyone for the help.

Most likely the apps sensor tho......

also to motorize the butterfly is just plain dumb......

so you might keep the old one for parts

thanks for info......these are just now coming of age......likely many more will fail

^Not many 1st gen Tacos left for this to be an emerging issue. Luckily @03gldxcabtrd was still able to find a replacement throttle body assembly.
