    Greetings,

My 2019 Tacoma OR has suddenly developed a hyper flash when I use the left turn signal. I installed OEM LED headlights in June 2022 and AlphaRexx LUXX tail lights in December 2022. I had no issues with either of them until yesterday. I heard that installing resistors can damage the junction block. Both headlights and taillights work fine, but the driver's side is flashing too fast when I turn the left turn signal on. The OBD2 gave me the “B1507” code.

Has anyone had any experience with that?

In what way could increasing impedance harm a junction block?

    B1507 “open turn signal circuit”
Because the LEDs don’t have as much resistance as incandescent bulbs and your truck thinks the turn signal is burnt out. Install resistors and your problem will go away. Can’t speak to why it suddenly started happening though, I get that part is frustrating

This video scares me to install a resistor: https://youtu.be/FPKN25EpN6s?si=kVBQnsfKAsz7bm2m

He never blames a resistor for that problem. He says it was caused by “(cheap) aftermarket accessories” which is what your tail lights are (not cheap though).
@7 minutes he addresses the actual culprit.
Blown fuse replaced with higher amp.

    Very good and helpful video.

At the 2:38 mark, he says he looked at the fuse for the circuit and found it not blown. He didn't say but presumably it is a 7.5A fuse. He however insinuated at the 7:40 mark that the owner might have replaced the fuse when it failed with a higher amperage fuse. It possibly failed again and the owner possibly installed a correct fuse.

Above might have been the cause for the fried wiring. It is a presumptive cause but not definitive.

At the 17:12 mark, he says "aftermarket accessories ... very very bad idea". Without actual evidence to prove this, blaming the resistor or making a sweeping indictment that aftermarket accessories are bad .... I don't agree with that. But that's my take on it. There are lots of aftermarket products out there that meet or exceed the OEM specs and actual performance. One just need to do research before making the leap.

    Update:

I swapped my Alpharex taillights for the stock ones, and the hyper flashing disappeared

So I guess there is something wrong with Alpharex ‍‍♂️
