    @Kwikvette
    Can the dynamic range of a system be easily reduced without a large reduction in sound quality?
    The difference between loud and quiet scenes is quite a lot, I’ve found myself turning it down and back up as fight scenes and other intense action come and go

    Absolutely

    A quality receiver can have multiple levels of "blending" in the loud with the quiet, almost like a "midnight" mode so to speak

    Different brands will have different names for it, and some even have varying levels for detecting and adjusting how much it tries to balance between the two

    To add, no it won't impact sound quality.

    You have the same speakers, setup, and everything.

    It's just about bringing closer the difference between loud explosions, and scenes with dialogue only. Some AVR's have modes for enhancing dialogue alone as well.

    @eon_blue

    See the story about the old Cessna out of LA?

    It keeps getting stolen and flown around, as it kept ending up at different locations.

    Funny thing is, the person stealing and flying it replaced the battery, headset, among other things.

    The owner went to look for it, only to find it was at some other airport like 25miles away

    There, he said he took out the battery whatever else

    Only to find the weekend after it was somewhere else, with a new battery and headset even :rofl:

    He told news reporters he was confused AF cause apparently you gotta have specialty tools for some of that work done, not to mention some decent experience cause that vintage plane is hard to land

    Aye if you're stealing my shit and leaving it in better condition, by all means :rofl:

    I'm surprised it isn't getting logged. It's one thing to land and takeoff in a field and stay low. But to takeoff and land in an airport you need to be calling out intent and tail numbers. Someone should be logging all this.
