That's generally true at the Sam's locations I've been too, but that doesn't mean you can't go against the flow if there are pumps open.

 

Sam's closest to me does not have a gas station, the ones I've been to, all are one way only.
Buy Walmart+ membership, 10 cents off at every Murphy, Walmart, Exxon, Mobil and member price at Sams club. In November, December they run specials for half off on membership.

 

Sounds like communism to me.

 

I just use Shell (Tacoma only) and use my Kroger plus points, my last fill up was $0.60 off per gallon... rest of the fleet gets Kroger gas as well as using the points...

Not a Costco or a Sam's member...

 

I usually use Kroger fuel stations for the points. I've never figured out how to use the points at the Shell stations. But I filled up 35 gallons of diesel for $3.46 on Saturday.

 

So you got diesel for .09 cents a gallon in 2025?

 

At Shell, on the menu screen, click on the rewards button and it will give you a list of 4(?) options, chose manual enter Kroger (close enough) and then enter the phone number linked to the card...
That is not the exact instructions, but it should be close enough for horse shoes and government work.... lol

I have seen the attendants back people out for that. They won't allow it, again just from what I observed. Sam's has a very distinct process of allowing people to gas up, you

They will kick you out of line if you drive in to the pumps backwards.

 

You put your left tire in, you pull left tire out, and then you do the asshole parking and shake it all about.

 

Yep, I had 4377 fuel points on my Kroger card. Kroger lets you deduct $0.10 for every 100 fuel points you redeem, with no limit on how many points you can redeem for up to 35 gallons in a transaction. Diesel fuel was $3.199 per gallon at that station. So I used 3100 points to drop the price to $0.099 per gallon. I've still got 1277 points on my card so I'll be able to get $1.20 off one more 35 gallon fill up before the end of the month. I usually save about $2k a year on fuel at Kroger. The keys to maximum savings with the Kroger fuel program is to always shop on the 4X points days, buy gift cards at 4x points, and always buy the maximum 35 gallons of fuel every time. I've got a bunch of 5 gal fuel cans so I can fill the truck, usually 20 gallons, and fill 3x 5 gallon cans. I use the cans to top off my fuel tank later and to keep my tractor full. Fred Meyer which is owned by Kroger, has a similar program, but they limit it to $1 discount per transaction. So it's not as easy to save big dollars.



Edit: My point on buying gift cards on 4x points. I bought something on ebay last week for $168. I waited for a 4x point on gift cards coupon, and bought $165 ebay GC. 165x4=660 points. So I will get $0.60 off 35 gallons or $21 in fuel savings for using a GC for my ebay purchase. If I know I'm going out to eat at a restaurant I'll stop at Kroger and get $50 card for that restaurant. The savings can really add up.

They love to try to intimidate people by crawling up your ass... when you are already ten+ miles over the speed limit just by keeping up with traffic.

 

I don't back toward or into the pumps, if necessary, I drive around outside of pumps and approach from the exit against the arrows. I've done it numerous times over the years, at a couple different clubs and I've never had an attendant even attempt to ask me to leave.

 

Got a Walmartian. $2.59 a gallon!

Walmart should try a drive thru location. Not a drive up window but a drive thru store where you can drive thru the shopping aisle no need to park or get out the car.

Saturday a guy rode past the house on a mobility scooter loaded up with walmart swag including a case of water on the floor board. I didn't notice if it was a personal scooter or if he commandeered it from the mart. I'm 2.5 miles from walmart and I know he was going at least another .5 miles if not further. I don't know what kind of range a mobility scooter gets but they would make for the most efficient and lowest price EV out there if you don't have far to go.
