The 14 big ones would average 72 each. Maybe a little more as they were more wet then normal. The 4 littles were prolly 20-30 each

No one should have our family's experience where someone else's poor judgement combined with another's poor behavior mashed them up dead.

Long ago I drove semi, my career and personal interests were a lot more driving than most, and I have to travel one of the busiest interstate corridors often to see things go really wrong. Roads are shared spaces so it means shared responsibility. I made sure my pickup meets my needs and I've long rented a heavy duty or other trick and sometimes a 2 axle trailer when what I own is not sufficient.

Full OME suspension (885 front springs, Dakar leaf pack + OME shocks) + D29XL extra leaf + 3 deg. shim + RideRite airbags
Interesting payload info from the brochures of Gen 2 vs Gen 4 (capacity in lbs):

    2025 SR5 4 door LB
    -GVWR = 6294
    -Curb Weight = 4597
    -Payload = 1698
    -Doorjamb/carrying capacity = About 1050 from what I heard?

    2012 SR5 V6 4 door LB
    -GVWR = 5500
    -Curb Weight = 4220
    -Payload = 1280
    -Doorjamb/carrying capacity = 1050 (for my Taco)

I wonder why such a big difference between payload and carrying capacity between the 2012 and 2025 models. I am aware that carrying capacity is the legal capacity including passenger and cargo.

Brakes are Reason No. 1 to heed the capacity ratings. The manufacturer has determined that, at these weights, the brakes will work effectively and REPEATEDLY.

Dude, I’m sorry. TacomaWorld used to be a place where people would share modding advice and opinions. The 4th Gen version of TW is a bunch of whiney little b!tche$ telling everyone not to mod their trucks, and how they sold their ‘lemon’ and got a Chevy.
If you know how it handles overloaded and you’re driving with the awareness, you’re probably safer than some asshat in a riced-out Honda doing 90 in the break-down lane or a soccer Mom in a 25 year old minivan rushing the red lights or a twenty something texting they/their friend/partner.
