especially with a 2x3" hole in the side of it. even $80 is too much because you need to spend $20 on RTV, a cutting board, grabby handle, and like 4 bolts to seal it.

Anyone in need of a 2nd gen skid plates from the front all the way past the transfer case.
They're used and abused but they serve me well. They're still good, just a little rusty.
If no one's interested I'll be cutting them up to make my new skid plates but it's a shame because they bolt right up to a second gen.
I think $100 is fair for them. That's kind of what I expect to spend in steal for my new skid plates.

Looks like a 10lb propane tank in the middle of the street. It banged around under the semi truck in front of me. I was able to clear it without contact.

I finally found where these were being stored so, if ya want em!

 

Hood started rusting at the edge. Since I don't really care what it looks like, but just wanted to stop the rust, I started sanding it to slap on some tremclad anti rust paint. However it looks like there is some sort of caulking on the inside that separated and now lets in water?? I'm a little worried about pulling it off... Should I just remove and clean/cover it, or am I just opening up a bigger can of worms?

 

There is an adhesive that bonds panels to mitigate vibration of the hood, most likely that’s what that is. Can clean it up and put new automotive sealant there to bond the section and paint over

 

Got this fixed today. Unfortunately there were no trustworthy aftermarket clock springs offered by Standard, Wells, VDO, etc. for my 4Runner trim, so I had to line Akio's pockets and order Toyota P/N 84307-35010. Note the $1100 MSRP

Circuit check of the old clock spring confirmed no continuity between connectors z9 pin 4 and F23 pin 2:
