Just put all the house stuff on a Menards / home depot / whatever card at 0% for 12 months. Then you have bike money!

Anyone else here ride a Buell? I've had 2: an X1 Millennium (heavily modified, big bore) and an XB9 (stock except for intake & exhaust).

Both bikes were light, nimble, & had lots of v-twin torque. Perfect for carving canyons.

I still have the 1995 S-2 Thunderbolt I bought new in 1995. Had a 1996 S2T Thunderbolt for a while. Worked for the dealership for several years. Rode just about every model Buell ever made including some miles on a 1991 RS1200 Westwind. Have tons of Buell memorabilia and a few items Erik autographed for me. Rode with him once back in 1997 here in PA and watched him try to pull a wheelie which looped the bike on the front stretch at Pocono Raceway. I still have a second place trophy from riding in one of the old Battletrax events. So yeah, Ive ridden some Buells.

Me and Erik the first time I met him. Laconia 1997.

Gotta keep our hobbies diversified so we're well rounded for the seasons and everything else! We've got camping, ATVs, and now motorcycles. Besides that I'm a little into video games (not hardcore PC or anything, just Switch Lite), wife is into some crochet and lots of reading/audio books. Can't dump all your fun money into one thing.

Last year we built a deck and put up a pergola thing on it. Next year is prolly more travel.

But back to motorcycles, I always find it fun to window shop. Even if not buying, it's fun to think about what's next (and change your mind 12 times).

haha yup. me and the gf are gamers and thats how we met is actually from a video game. we still play a lot on our computers and redoing the basement is making a gaming cave for us that has more room and better setup then what we have currently. the gf does do some crochet but mainly in winter times. we both do audio books but its mainly for long trips or for at work to listen to, then dirtbikes lol. im trying to get her into camping just so we can go with a good friend of mine once and awhile but she isnt a big fan of no ac or no toilet so idk how ill get her into that lol. might just be a me thing!

so far this year and the end of last year we built a driveway extension/rock garden thing, our garden but plan to convert it into a green house for winter, the patio has been started but every time i try and get rock they are out of stock or they raise the price 200 more! so its on pause, i reworked the garage (still got work to do!) and also the basement lol. still have more stuff to do this year so i think im a bit tapped out. still gonna buy other stuff for what i currently own thou haha.

ya thats what im usually doing. i love to look at bikes and think about what id do with them. if i had all the money in the world well id have a really serious marketplace problem!

Thanks to some mostly positive changes to our vacation plan that were announced yesterday at work, I need to take more vacation than planned before the end of the year (or I'll forfeit it). Got me thinking about trying to plan a route for a first moto trip. Wife wanted something easy, low miles & hrs per day. Came up with the below. We'd overnight in Yakima, Moses, and Leavenworth before heading home...

    upload_2025-8-13_7-45-11.png

But then my buddy warned me that last time he was in to Palouse Falls he remembered the road being gravel. So here's google street view, lol. Apparently two miles or so are gravel. Here's a nice bit of washboard... Wife was happy with the idea til she saw this, lol. Personally, Palouse Falls has always been on my list to check out, but I know it's nothing crazy. I was just using it as a random destination to route to and from...

    1. Think 2 miles of possibly washboarded and potholed gravel would make my wife kill me?
    2. Any other SE WA suggestions any of you WA folks might have? lol

Did you meet on an online game? I know two married couples that met playing online games, from diff countries even. One couple is from US + New Zealand, another is from US + Canada. Interesting how that has become a legitimate way to meet people nowadays!

The cold out at night thing is WAY easier to deal with than the heat, in my opinion. You can always get a better sleeping bag, a liner, or throw a heavier blanket on top of you in the tent. Wife has a -15 bag, and I'm using her old 0 degree bag. I say using... haven't used them since we got the camper, but I will next week for the first time in ages! Got the tent out last night to make sure it was still in good shape.

Our poop-bucket was a game changer. I had never done that business in the woods before, and the first time you do that it's pretty liberating, lol. Made multi-day trips much less stressful to those of us not used to digging cat holes. I had actually never camped until after I met my wife. Now we're really into it. It's been great. It pairs well with the ATVs and the Motos, too.

agreed. its so much easier to deal with the cold. I use a 20 degree quilt but I've got another I can layer up if needed. think ive only done that once. usually the tent holds enough heat I dont need it.

I bought the gotta go a while back but this is the first trip ive taken it on. didnt end up using it but it was nice to have the option incase we needed it in the middle of nowhere or the pit toilets were nasty.
