Morning all. Still fighting with COVID but tired of not doing anything so I installed the dash cam I bought for the truck. It’s a FitcamX and fits great. Only took about 10 minutes to install.

    Morning all

It's very doable but putting the last cap on can be tricky. It is also much easier on a lift. I buy the u joint and have a shop install it. Can't remember the exact cost, but it isn't too much. $75 an hour for a labor and $35 for the part, somewhere around there.

I always carry 3 u joints with a grease fitting.

Good Morning all. According to at least one of my weather apps, I'm supposed to get some rain from now until approx 12:30 PM ET.

Check out some YT video's. It's not overly difficult to replace a u-joint, so long as ears aren't broken or mangled. If you don't have a vice or press, you can use a hammer and a block of wood. Just don't hit on the ears, they can be warped or broken. Lots of u-joints get swapped out on the trails, it's not typically a difficult repair.

    Happy humping day!

Solidworks just crashed on everybody, it's a mad scramble because this company doesn't use a PLM system. I see lots of re-work in the future.

That's not horrible. You are doing half the work, pulling the drive shaft out and putting it back in, that is the heavy lifting part. For the mechanic, only swapping out 3 u-joints on the job, it was easy money.

    About as violent!IMG_5054.jpg IMG_5053.jpg
It had been hanging around here for 2 1/2 days now we tried to catch it last night, but couldn’t get close. It kept trying to cross the road while I was cutting grass, so I figured I would shew It away from the road and work it toward the pond. It fell in front of me as I was easing along behind it, so I just picked it up. I hauled it up to the waterfowl rescue. There’s something going on with his neck. IMG_5058.jpg
Looks like they could use a new sign.

Definitely some odd behavior. Why did you let it bite you?

Yeah the could use a new sign, but the important parts are still there so kick that can down the road.
