What is your issue with the DuraTracs?

the clip I’m referring to is about3-4 inches long, that lays in that section where the fender meets that piece that wraps down under the headlight and the fog. It’s kind of a hanger type. I didn’t know it was there and I guess I used just bit too much pulling power and it broke. I’m thinking I have to pull the wheel well liner out to get in behind it. I mean the fender sits ok and if I bounce around on some bumpy roads the gap may widen a little bit, again not bad enough that people will notice easily. It’s just my OCD will make me correct it soon.

It's only the passenger side. Im thinking the fender might now be aligned correctly.

Changed out all the fluids. Rear differential, front differential, transfer case, manual transmission, coolant, brake fluid and power steering. Power steering fluid did not look good once drained. Dark color. Didn’t see anything in the old fluid. Front differential oil was dirtier than the rear and also had more deposits stuck on the drain plug magnet surprisingly. Replaced the front differential drain plug as well since I stripped the original one out. Also greased all U joints.

Actually I think DuraTracs are good tires. For more off-road oriented use. I realize with the way I use my Tacoma I would be better off with a tire geared to road use. When I bought my Tacoma I didn’t want the Wrangler All Season tires it came with standard so I went with the upgrade DuraTracs. To me they are pretty loud on the road. All the reviews I’ve read on the Cooper R+T suggest they are quieter on pavement. Sort of between a DuraTrac and an All Season tire.

I loved the Duratracs that I had. They performed great for me off road but yes they can get noisy on the highway. I currently have the Wrangler with Kevlar and am really happy with how they perform off road and how quiet they are on highways.

Noticed the same with my diffs when I did them at 16k miles. Front was dirtier and more deposits. Transfer case fluid looked new but it shifts into 4wd way quicker and is a lot smoother after changing that out for Redline.

This sounds like the same problem I have, only with a slightly different symptom. Rectangular black piece that attaches from the inside, behind the fender liner. I wonder if someone has a diagram of the assembly for us to reference?

I picked up one of those small harbor freight trailers from marketplace works well for what it cost, you haul that away instead of burning it or just to a different spot on your property?

Sadly did not buy direct from All Pro because now I see they're over half price there from where I bought. First saw it on Wheelersoffroad.com for $228+ shipping. has it for $99 right now. Looks like same model.

additional info -- I can sit in backset and put my head behind the shelf so I'm not hitting my head, but it is right in front of your face. Not really practical if you have adult backseat passengers regularly, especially if you have MOLLE pouches hanging down. My 80 pound 4-legged companion is fine back there though.

Torx security bolts. Basically torx with a raised pin in the driver head. Won't stop a determined thief with a $5 set of harbor freight bits, but it will hopefully slow them down long enough to think twice. Hopefully will also provide some body armor for off-roading

I am wondering with the extreme temps a Cat hits if covering them with shields and such affects in cabin temps and or other items like the transmission??
