Spent a little time with Win 11 last night before installing Linux. Do people actually like it? Seems like a shitshow.

I'm having a genuine first world problem. I want to drink my coffee but my new tumbler keeps it so damn hot it is still scalding after an hour has passed so far.

One time I was pretty pissed off because my order didn’t include a magnet… Amber took notice and that year I got 5 5-packs of magnets in my stocking for Christmas!

That's awesome. RockAuto does brand marketing well IMO. They priced their merch super affordably, you could include a sweatshirt, hat, tee, tumbler... whatever and really not feel like you're overspending. I mean shit a sweatshirt is $18 from them, some places are charging $30 for a tee shirt.

I miss their awful TV commercials too! Maybe they are still around but just don’t market on the few streaming options I use?

The magnets are just right, I’m a little too OCD-ish to put stickers on my toolboxes so magnets scratch that itch.

I put stickers all over the inside of the shop doors and on the various smooth things in the shop, nothing sticks to my toolbox tho.

    4 run, 2 don't
You just have to disable all sorts of shit that is enabled by default to have it run "normal". Annoying at first until you get everything turned off.

Only complaint (albeit a small one) is that my linux pc keeps defaulting to HDMI for audio output whenever I turn it on.

I've got my DAC hooked up to it via usb and have to manually switch it over every time, even if the DAC is turned on before the PC.

Yeah it seemed like they went wild with the opt-in options. Also weird decision on the start menu. I did the command line bypass at install so I didn't have to connect to the internet or use a Microsoft account to set it up but it still had all the questions afterwards where you're clicking all the damn intrusions off. Also seemed like they're really pushing Copilot.

Bummer about the audio out on the Linux machine, which distro are you running? Ive read people have reboot issues with headphones and speakers (Debian based), where speakers are set to default but reboots always defer to the jack so I'm not surprised to hear it. I have a Schiit dac tucked away somewhere, now I'm curious to dig it out and try it with mine.

I'm sure the vaccines are different in reality so there probably is some justification for the price difference. But I'm sure corporate pharmaceutical greed is the bulk of it like it is with most other medicines. Hell my grandparents were well off and even they would take a trip down the TX/Mexico border every year to get their prescriptions for cheap back in the 80s and 90s.

Yeah the older rabies vaccines were brutal. They are supposedly a lot easier to get now with less side effects

Imagine if we never had a rabies vaccine, I've seen videos of people with it and that shit is scary as fuck. As close as we could get to a real zombie apocalypse
