I can't imagine how shitty rabies would be. I think it's wild when I see videos of people trying to make friends with a raccoon or pet a fox or something. Play dumb games, win dumb prizes etc etc

 

I've gotten within petting distance of Coyotes multiple times, never snuck up on a fox yet. Raccoons are usually the most outgoing, sometimes they just approach you cause humans give food.

 

When I was a little kid we were at a park and my mom tried giving a squirrel a cracker and it chomped down on her finger, she had to go get a rabies shot lol.
They say it can take up a year to make you sick and once it does, it’s too late to get vaccinated and you’re as good as dead. So always better to get the shots to be safe.

 

You gotta pick one, are you going up to a wild racoon or a wild koala (most of them have chlamydia)

I run Ubuntu, and yeah no matter what I do, every restart defaults my audio over again.

Got a Peachtree Nova for my DAC amp since I run bookshelves and a subwoofer in the garage.

What kind of Schiit you got? I run a Fulla on my gaming PC. Didn’t need any of their bigger DAC amps since my cans are only 30 ohms so they're really easy to drive.

Yeah they get friendly and their cuddly vibe doesn't help. I've had a fox chase me on a bicycle but otherwise they're respectful around here. (Sadly hit one when I was borrowing my moms e46 330ci once, that was a spendy mistake)
Coyotes are rare to see near the beach here but it happens. Always surprised how big they are.

All I have left is an older little Modi 2. Just found it in a ziplock with an SMSL SA50 haha. No speakers nearby to test though sadly, and no headphone output on the SMSL. I run Kubuntu so I'd like to try it and see what's up.
I wouldn't mind going down the audio rabbit hole again but it hurts the wallet! How's the Peachtree?

 

Yeah after I got bitten by a dog at the dog park a couple years ago I looked into it. The urgent care I went to for stitches told me they didn't stock the rabies vaccine and I would need to go to the hospital for it, but they told me they don't usually insist on getting a rabies vaccine for dog bites unless the dog was acting rabid so I didn't do it. It was having a spat with Dex and I stupidly put my arm between them. But I was low-key pretty nervous about it for awhile lol. In the clear now.

 

Sort of a will I or won't I turn into a zombie after being bit waiting game haha. I'd be a little on edge too.

 

if had been an unprovoked attack or something I definitely would have. But it was a dog park spat between 2 dogs I got caught up in. Dogs in LA County are required to be registered and vaccinated against rabies, plus it was an uppity neighborhood dog park so I figured chances were pretty high it was up to date on its shots.

Still I probably should have gotten the shot lol.
