yes, bed cage will get built for either kit.

even with a 16" travel shock and notch ill still be able to use 19" like they claim? or would I bump it at say 17"? won't that make the leafs flatten requiring more maintenance on them? Im just trying to understand. thanks

I would also be going with a bypass for tuning purposes.

EDIT: Purchased JD fab SUA after speaking to Jesse. Have not ordered shocks yet.

yeah but at least with rock crawling when it brakes your going slow as balls..... prerunning on the other hand....breaking stuff at 60+mph is painful...but these dipshits need to just keep the cyberdumpster where it belongs on the pavement.....behind a building....filled full of trash...

For so much effort, how much more money would it be to do a 3 link?

I have the JD SUA kit. You wont need over a 14" shock unless you notch the frame, which would also require a bed cage.

Depends on how you want to use the truck. The JD kit works pretty well with their under the bed shock mounts but doesn't cycle the most amount of travel on the market.

    Whole lotta stuff
Might as well do 16" shocks IF you go through with doing a bedcage. The JD kit does really well using 14" shocks to get good travel while keeping the bed clear. Unless you're planning to link it later, bed cage doesn't make the most sense for the time being.

I just got done moving from my apartment, having the extra bed space was pretty awesome. I can still do truck things from time to time with the JD kit on my long bed.

Not necessarily. It'll only be worth doing the 16" shock if he's notching the frame. Otherwise he won't have the full benefit of his bypass zones and won't have much of a bump zone.

62” leaf’s with any off the shelf kit will only cycle cleanly 16-17” of travel before leafs go too far negative or start to separate at droop.

    Change my mind.

My setup with 14” shackles does 19” before leafs are separating and any more the driveshaft would require modification.

I beat the crap out of mine, carry some weight not nearly what I use to and still work pretty damn good! Have videos of said beatings in my signature. Only thing is you have to make sure the Mounts are tight to the frame, otherwise it will rear steer and wander at hwy speeds, yes I know. Welding mine is on the list before desert season.

There's no doubt its a good kit that can party. Even with a 14" shock and not the "most amount of travel" the kit works well.

I have it on my 2wd running a 3.0 x 14" EXBP. Never fully bottomed out the rear on the test runs.

nope, spacer and offset wheels is required, either one or both depending on cage and shock diameter.

oh you mean bump notch...no but the housing gets pretty close to the frame.

Anyone still on a stock axle housing ever warped a drum? could absolutely be a wheel bearing since I'm still on factory ones a 150k, however I couldn't detect any play in them with the truck in the air. wheel spins true, so it doesn't appear to be a bent axle shaft.

no noises or indicators of anything while accelerating or coasting, but when i brake, i have a subtle alternating "wee waw wee waw...." sound from the right hub/drum area that correlates to speed. ill put the truck on stands and let it idle in drive to see if there's a visible warp, but wanted to ask first if anyone had experienced something similar before tearing it apart. braking performance seems to be unchanged, but i'm sure it's demolishing the shoe.

I'm not LT because I'm poor, but I'm posting here because the mid travel BS thread is dead.

I've got two questions. Truck is a 1996, 2.0 nonresi Radflo "extended travel" coilovers in front, 2.0 emulsion Radflos and a General HD leaf pack in the rear.

Why am I flying nose down? Is it weight distribution? Spring stiffness? Shock tuning? Throttle as I go off the bump?

And can I soften the rear so it's less jarring when I land without losing payload capacity by tuning the shocks, or would I need to go SUA?
