I still have to get sliders but overall im happy, its a bit oversprung as result of both a notch up on the bilsteins and also the 2888 springs, but thats by design as i knew i would be adding a lot of weight, so i didnt want the suspension to sag, but it drives nice and is very capable.. though not intended to be destroyed as i see some people do,

Nice, congrats. Those front/rear lockers are a cool addition.

I'm not a big fan of lifts on any vehicle. But I have to admit the previous owner did some nice adds and the truck looks great.

In all honesty, i have been driving it somewhat mildly to break in the gears, and also allow the suspension to settle.. Good thing too because i found my front shock-mount nut finger tight and within 3 threads of walking off. as an engineer by trade i wanted to do everything by the book, so i spent a day outside with torque wrench and tightened everything to spec,, about a 1/3rd of the nuts moved somewhat, back to torque, and my rear ubolts i moved way upward in torque as well... Have been pleased thus far, and testing out the Eatons.. not sure what everyone is complaining about them because they pull like a freakin mountain goat.. The combo of tire selection, lockers, and gears i can do things without even being in 4 hi that i previously had to use 4 low, just hit the rear locker switch while in 2 hi.. lol.. but when i am in 4 low and hit front and rear lockers.. lookout.. lol, but again im not out to beat this truck to death in dangerous conditions.. just get me confidently where i want to go off the beaten path without worry of getting stuck,
Though i do want the last component, RCI rock sliders.. Those predator steps gotta go due to breakover angle..
As far as roof top tent and racks, nahhhh.. im a ground tent person... Setup camp and then go on adventures without having to packup all my shit each time..

just an observation... For those questioning getting an SR instead of a Offroad model or TRD Pro.. My preference is the SR because when using aftermarket Lockers i have to turn off the traction control assist.. With an SR it's as simple as pushing and holding the traction control button.. I tried the eatons without doing that and holy hell, what a fight, the breaks grabbed and would not let go it seemed..
not sure what else would be involved in the more luxury models such as the TRD Pro but i know they have way more electronic selections than a meek SR model..
What i do know is that this meek and mild SR was able to get into some pretty nasty shit just this last weekend around frog-loop, and pulled a TRD Pro out where his rear locker wouldn't engage.. not sure if he would have had a problem if it did, but the factory locker seems to have a problem when in off-camber situations...
so im happy with my selection, and even after all the mods, im still about 20k cheaper

The reason i decided i needed to move away from the predator steps was a result of this last weekend.. Not sure i would have taken that line if it weren't to help that guy out.. but after that little venture i was positive that paying for sliders is way better than ripping those steps off my truck, or pushing them into my door frame..

    Itz JDM tyte, yo!
I like having sliders with the fill plates. Doubles as a step.

It does add a good amount of weight. I just deal with it.

Very nice rig!! Only thing for me that is tuff for a daily is MT’s. I went through 2 sets of GEO G003 33’s pizza. Recently went back to 265/75/16 Falken Wildpeaks AT4W great on and off road and ride quality is fantastic. IMG_6237.jpg

That's a nice rig.. and i kinda get the AT preference vs MT, but too early for me to tell thus far..
well, there were so many variables when I built mine that I wasn't sure about tire size.. i like the ride but disappointed in height.. these 255/85R16 are on 31.5 inches actual height when they should stand 33". Grant it i have a fair at of weight, but still..

Considering 35/10.5R17 next but it depends on funds, and any potential settling between now and then

Hey Thank you for that I really appreciate it. Learned a lot on TW for sure. Definitely helped me figure out what kind of rig to build. Purpose Built. For me I do light trails to Moderate. Being a daily I keep that into consideration. Not that I haven’t fuck some shit up LOL. My Geo mt’s being a daily was not great after a while had terrible wear and horrible radial pull. I also would rotate regularly. I was final done. Since I switch to the Falken’s been great no complaints at all. They handled Death Valley so I was sold. Also with you being re geared with 4.88’s going to 35’s might slow things down. Guys usually run 5.29’s is what I’ve read I could be wrong others will chime in. All that matters is having fun and getting out there and seeing this beautiful land. Looking forward to seeing what you do with yours. Cheers and have a great weekend.

Ha I just went to the G003s last fall and love em. Other than tight turns in parking lots and the big ol drop in mpgs I don't notice much difference on road from the ridge grapplers I replaced. Huge improvement off road.

I only put about 2000 or so miles a year on the taco though so I'd likely choose differently if she was a daily driver.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
Sliders are mounted to the frame...steps are mounted to the body. Bend steps and you probably bent the floor of your cab. And they're only mounted with six 6mm bolts.

Are you sure you have 255/85/16? They are listed at 33.1" and I find it hard to believe you have 31.5". Sounds more like a 265/75/16.
