And I can remember collecting soup labels and sending them in for these cups.
I still have some in as shipped box.
    About 55 years old.

Ah shit that clear glass looks so familiar, I remember drinking tea out of that when I was a kid, at my grandpas house. Man I haven't seen that glass in decades.

I remember when I could fill up the .9 gallon tank on my first motorcycle, my Honda S90, for 25 cents during the gas wars......and go almost 100 miles before filling up again. That was in shorts, T shirt, flip flops and no helmet and not even a motorcycle license. Just having a permit in California allowed a person to ride a motorcycle.

Heck, having ridden for 50 yrs and teaching motorcycling my classes always cracked up that I never took a class or a motorcycle test at the DMV. When motorcycle operators licenses game into being if you owned a motorcycle you were grandfathered in. Helmet laws did not come in for many years after I started riding.

Along those lines I had a local municipality motor officer take my class because he did not have a motorcycle license yet he was a working motor officer. I asked how that happened and did he ticket non licensed riders. He said he was not sure how he slipped by and he never ticked a rider for not being licensed. Crazy, just crazy...BTW, he was the nicest guy.

Loved my Major Matt stuff. Had one of these that I just removed the ball portion. So fun!

Here's a fun topic - maybe or maybe not for you ;)

Remember when you had to call a terrestrial radio station to request a song you wanted to hear?

Remember when you could call the station and request a song for your crush or your girlfriend? It was the ULTIMATE play for her affection.

Though Tiesto did play a song for me, for a girl on his podcast :)

I remember in the 80s calling WRKR in Milwaukee to request Duran Duran songs. I don't know why but 8 and 9 year old me, loved Duran Duran. I still do.

I can only imagine what the disc jockey was thinking when a small kid was calling in and asking for a song.

Then to compound that - I would be sitting there in our living room with my "boombox" - with a blank tape inside, waiting to record the song from the radio! You'd be listening to the DJ's segues and trying to anticipate if he was going to play your song. Recording a song and missing the first few seconds was a big buzzkill.

I miss terrestrial radio so much. Later in my 20s I became a big Art Bell fan. I'd be working on photo projects all night long or my eyes buried in photoshop and listening to Art from the Kingdom of Nye. If you're an Art Bell fan, there's a nice library of his shows on iTunes podcasts.

I remember laying in bed at night, tuning in my crystal radio to the CBS mystery theater.
The creeking of the rusty old door hinge and E.G. Marshal saying, "Welcome, come on in to the CBS Mystery Theater."
Feel asleep many a night listening to the stories.
They are archived out there somewhere and I occasionally catch one.

Remember when gas caps did not have retaining cords/cables and it was common to see an abandoned gas cap on top of the pump?

Remember when you had to add water to powder to get milk. Or knowing what was going to be on tv by word of mouth or the latest 45s (top ten hits) on the end isle of the record section at Kmart. Mom’s very Distinct whistle, heard literally for miles to tell you that supper was on the table.
